  1. after playin so so many $10-$30 MTT's and then playing the $500 satellite to aruba on UB ive finally come to grips with the fact that the differences are unbelievable. Im a cardrunners member so i cant say i didnt expect it after watching all those MTT vids but if anybody has any advice on being more consistent in the lower stakes buy-in games it would be appreciated. ive been playing the tight-aggressive game that is more profitable in the higher stakes games...so somebody GIVE ME ADVICE! thx
  2. Same game, just widen your calling range slightly post flop unless you know your opponent is good.

  3. If you want to be consistent at 10-30 mtts then you prob could just sit and wait for hands, people will prob still pay you off. Not kidding that strat prob is good enough to be a winning player at those levels. Higher buy ins for the most part arent too much different it all depends on how your opponents are playing. For the most part you dont have to do some crazy ass move to win a tourney just play solid. People wont be as stupid and wont play 2-7 against you just because its suited so there are minor adjustments that you need to make if you move up stakes.
  4. i feel that the opposite is true. In low buyin tourneys u can run people over. In high buyin's u cannot.

I am obv talking about late in the tourney, but that is when it counts. So I'd say if you're playing low buyin's, just try and stick around till u get to late in the tourney, then raise and reraise as often as u feel comfortable.
  5. Thanx Ari, i appreciate advice from someone as well-respected as yourself, and thanx for the other advice, but what if you cant pick up a big hand or cant get value from it and you stick around until the ante kicks in, then you have like 15x or even like 25x, not enough chips to start pushing people around...then what? or should i just be waiting to get it in with the best of it? These are the problems i run into in these MTTs

  6. ditto cotch

my problem is the later stages of these levels and i keep pounding my head against the wall. especially how many 80-20s you lose late that seems like your winning 40/60
  7. I THINK ARI MEANS THAT U SHOULD LOOK FOR FOLD EQUITY IN LATE STAGES OF SMALL BUYIN MTTS. FIELDS ARE OFTEN LARGE AND MOST PLAYERS PLAY MUCH TOO TIGHT LATE. DONT WAIT TILL U LOSE AN 80/20. LOOK TO PICK UP FREE CHIPS AND HOPE TO WIN A COUPLE 40/60S WITH THE FREE CHIPS U PICK UP, (IF U EVER GET CALLED) IF U LOSE THEM, THEN GO RIGHT BACK TO WORK LOOKING FOR FREE CHIPS. IF U BUST, SIGN UP FOR MORE TOURNEYS AND PLAY TIGHT FOR 3 HOURS SO U CAN TRY AND RUN OVER SOME MORE NOOBS LATE. i DEFINETELLY AGREE WITH ARI THAT IT IS MUCH EASIER TO RUN OVER SMALL BUYINS THAT LARGER ONES.
