WUG thoughts....I have a pretty solid sample size to deal with by now. My results for MTTs on Full Tilt are waaaaay better than my results on stars. The contrast is unreal actually. I'm a midstakes player so I can't really blame field sizes because the 26s on ftp are about the same field size as the 50s on Stars and really, its all relative unless you're dealing with 3k+ field sizes imo.
Is it really that big of a difference in structures? Does full tilt just fit my style better? I'm sure this is a tough question to answer but I'm determined to get some final tables under my belt on stars, its pissing me off.
Anyone have any insight? -
Obv variance is always an answer but my sample size has to be starting to level things out...I mean, I really have one 1.3k score on stars and i'm hitting 1k+ on full tilt on a fairly regular basis...few times a month i guess. It really comes down to final tables for me, a few times a month on full tilt, a few times EVER on stars.
I understand its a tough question to answer...might be a structure thing mostly? -
After looking at OPR, I see that the Sunday Brawl $31k score is really skewing your FTP stats. Chances are that you are a 10-20% ROI player at the moment, which is very good. Your biggest opportunity is in learning to close. If you check your combined 1st-3rd, you'll see that this is where you have the most difficulty, and your 3rd>1st, and 2nd>1st. Focus on that and your future results on both sites will benefit. Good luck and hope that helps!

I've noticed this too. I am crushing FTP, Cake, Bodog, and AP but until yesterday (I got 1st in 20r - brag obv) I was a loser on stars. For whatever reason I take the most asinine bad beats on Stars. I also attribute it to bigger fields sizes (more variance), a lower ABI on stars (not a lot of $50+ MTT's), and of course - the Doom Switch.

Sigh, howcome all the women know i can't close...sigh...lol just kidding. I really appreciate the insight and you are totally right, I literally just got my first win in a field size bigger than 180 in a $10 dustball recently and it felt better than 3rd place for 3x the amount of money. I will work on my closing game. HU matches? More single table sngs?
-
While HU matches and STTs probably would be very helpful, I think the main reason you aren't winning 1/3 of your 3-handed games, and 1/2 of your heads up is that when you get there, you are starting with less chips than the other guy(s). Now I've never seen you play so this is just an educated guess, but your OP might have a clue. In there it seems like your focus is on making more final tables. This thought process might be hurting you with 10th-18th left, where chip accumulation, and not making the final table, should be your primary focus. Hope that helps!

I kind of had the same type of results for a while.
One conclusion I came to was that if you play alot of sng's there is quite a difference in structures and you def have to adjust to the structure of that particular site. As far as MTT's go, stars does have larger fields and that makes for higher variance obv. -
meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 2, jennifear, care to take a look at mine too?

To ft any 1k+ runner tourney on stars is a pretty decent accomplishment in my book... Some crazy mo fos on stars-I see shoves with 50+bbs with AJ, 55 type hands all day... Sick stuff. Just started playing on fulltilt so we'll see how it goes...
