  1. Hey guys,

Just curious to know whether strategy in live SNGs differ from the strategy in online SNGs (tight early stages, steal blind during middle-late stages, bubble abuse, push/fold 10 BBs etc. [or would the push/fold threshold be more since live is a much slower game compared to online] as I have decided to further build up my bankroll in live donkaments around my area and took a break from online play.
  2. The difference is online players use strategy and live players don't. Ez game.

  3. have to agree w/ theman. if u play live sng and ur on-line strat doesn't work i'd be shocked.
  4. Figure out avg hands dealt per live level and adjust your ranges accordingly. And obviously use live tells to your advantage and conceal your own. Be aware of and look out for random gamblers who's calling range is huge, and exploit the nits. Unless its high stakes or a really good structure it'll probably play like a turbo or super turbo even. Other than that everything else that's successful online transfers over nicely.
  5. live sngs are much more nitty then online esp w/ shuvs imo. like 17 to 20 bbs shuv is almost always Aq+, 99+. where online by the same random guy this could be 44+ aj, kj/ kq.
  6. Haha, sweet thanks guys. Well yeah, they seem much more spewy. Using the exact same strategy works pretty well on live. Esp in push/fold mode as I used to grind 45 man turbos although I need to work on my post flop play which is why the hand below came to mind.

    Played a 10 dollar buy in today and split the money and a 24 BI where I find QQ utg r 4x. 1 caller. flop 9 Q 8 r

bet 70%ish on flop. he tanks for a while and calls. turn 5: bet pot he tanks and calls. river 6 and i just left enough chips for ~pot sized jam on river as i knew he was a calling station although i had a feeling he binked a straight on the river but am not good enough to c/f river as i planned from the start to jam the river as i was pretty positive he would call me atw and pretty slim chance he would bink his draws. He would probably call me atw w/ 2nd pair. (oop and station called me atw to river)

Anyway he flipped 10 7 o and took the pot away and I let him know that he played the hand perfectly (wouldn't be surprised if he believed me or not).

So I guess you guys are right in the fact that there's much more spewier players in live SNGs compared to online but it also leaves me wondering if I could have played the hand any better and not lost all my chips? Thoughts?

Suggestions of how to improve post flop play?
