disagreement on bubble play... need help

    My friend was railing me today and we have a big disagreement on a bubble hand that he thinks i shouldnt have played.

    I tried a resteal with A7 and it was 2 people away from cashing and i was around 18/38 in the tournament. He thinks that i should have waited to cash to start making plays, but i believe that i was correct in trying to gain chips by abusing the bubble. So the question is do you play to cash or do you play to win and he thinks you play to cash and then start making plays.

    I personally dont think it was dumb at that time if i think he was stealing because it was bubble time and i think it was the correct play because i play to win and not to cash?

    So am i right to play to win and take as many + ev chances or am i wrong and wait to make plays after the bubble?

    Meh...it's not horrible, but I would r/r more esp. since he basically minraised. You're giving him more than 2:1 I think to speculate on the flop and then he can fold if he doesn't like it and probably still make $ if you think that is a concern of his. I also don't like resteal with A-little, but that's just me.

    Youre right that attacking while on or near the bubble is a good idea; I dont really like attacking people who open early pos though and also in this tourny your stacks arent too deep.

    you didnt have enough chips to resteal imho, i think you wait with this stack and let the bubble burst (or get an actual hand-a7 is literally garbage in this spot)

    you gave him like 2+:1 with 0 risk, he can call with jq and not sweat it
