    I got disconnected last night with two tables left in a tourney where the win (or 2nd place) would've been my biggest score to date...

    Because misery loves company, I'd love to hear any tourney disconnection stories you may have...

    if you have an I-phone, blackberry, or android phone with internet package you can use PDAnet to teather. this has saved me befor when i have been dc'd.

    pdanet costs money. theres an easy iphone tether trick just google it. also theres a rockmyphone 3gwifi thing that turns ur iphone into a 3g router for any computer thats like 5$ tho i think its a one time fee too (Gotta be jailbroken tho).

    Recently in the 750k i got 14th (sigh) i was up till like 2am or w/e and my power cuts out in my whole town. Every1 i kno is asleep and i cant play and drive obviously. Also i had like 15-20 bigs so like every hand was mega critical. Fortunately i did the tethering trick and was able to play for as long as my computer had battery. I busted and then the power immediately came back on lol

    I think its well worth a one time $30 fee or however much it is to ensure you always have internet connection

    My fiance was housesitting down the road and I wanted to go over there and hang out at this sick house and use their stronger internet connection than I get.

    I was playing sitting in the same spot all night when all of a sudden the interent cut out and these kids were on the computer and unplugging it messing with their brother who was using his for probably watching porn upstairs.

    These kids didn't even know I was over there and I didn't know them so I didn't say anything figuring they'd plug it back in and it'd be fine. They plugged it back in but messed up the router so now I was pissed due to being final two tables of a 90 man, no big deal but still.

    I finally reconnected for good with 5 players left and I had 1.5bbs and I tripled up in bb and then went on to win. DC ftw.

    This was a bad one:

    I had a roll of maybe 20k on UB and stars, and nothing on party (hadnt logged for maybe a year) back in 06. I logon and see they gave me $30 for free, so i regd for some $10 sngs, kept playing them and won like 8 in a row or something and kept playing them. Wound up with $400-500 after a few days, played 10-20 limit and ran it up into 1k or so.

    I then bought into the super monday (a $150 if ur not famillier w/ party) and made a deep run. I was 2nd in chips with 12 left when my internet went out (with first being 33k or something). I called party, desperatly trying to figure something out, got on my roomates comp, unplugged router and plugged back in, tried everything etc. finally, maybe 30 min later i got back on. I was last in chips with 7 ppl left, with like 7 or 8 bb's. shoved first hand (like A9 or something) and ran into KK. GG me

    I got a 5k role on party out of it, but it was still pretty weak. Shitty time to disconnect. Anyway, I wound up running that 5k into like 50k without ever depositing so it wasnt all bad

    I actually had iphone tethering until the new MMS update, which removed it (thanks, apple).

    Also, everything else was working...gchat, browser, AIM, ftp, carbon....just not AP. I emailed them about it, but they pointed out that I placed in the money, and "for this reason your case doesn't qualify for a refund." Nice.

    Lots of disconnections... but this one got me the most...

    So I'm at my buddies place... playing in the good old Mansion 100k... how I miss them... anyway...

    So I'm at FT with 7 players left... when sure enough... my computer suddenly can't connect to the house's wireless internet...

    I start to freak... and my buddy goes to ask him girlfriend if she still has internet with her computer... she does... she has her computer hooked up to the internet box...

    So I tell him to get her away from her computer so I can log in and finish the tourney... (I have about 10 BBs and we were 7 handed)

    He looks at me and says... I dunno man... she's working on homework for school right now...

    SO WHAT?!?!?!?!?! I GOT 1,000s OF DOLLARS ON THE LINE!!!

    So he goes to ask her if I can use the computer... and I can overhear her talking...

    "Well... how long does he need my computer for? Doesn't he know this assignment is due tomorrow?"

    FORGET THAT!!! I NEED AN HOUR TOPS!!! That is... if I'm still in the tourney at this point...

    So she finally lets me log in with her computer... and I get in just as I'm all in... knocked out in 6th place...

    So I win around $8k... but I am PISSED!!! And I'm sitting in their living room... cleaning up my computer stuff... and she comes bouncing into the room...

    "Oh... Congrats on winning that money... What are you planning on doing with it?" she asks...

    I gave her a nasty look and got the hell outta there...

    Bah... such life tilt....

    P.S. They broke up 6 months later... not related to my poker... just happy that she's gone...

    Was playing one of the msops this year. I was bout 6th in chips with 30 left out of the 3000 that started. And because im a fucking doosh and have pay as you go internet, like an idiot my credit runs out. No shops are open to top up and the site wnt let me register a card to top up my net.
    This went on for half hour before I finally got hold of a friend that lived in a town nearby. I then phoned a taxi to his at 4 am. Got round ther and was like 16th out of like 20 left. Luckily ima lucbox and still shipped it for my then biggest score of 17k (hidden brag) and a cheesy msop watch/bracelt.

    Disconnection ftw imo!

    Got disconnected during the break right before FT of $77 6 max on stars before it was a turbo. My internets was fking up big. So at like 4-5 am I went out in the snow (january in NE) and sat under a tree outside of some driveway (after a few that failed to connect) and used their internets and TID for over 5k. Boom worth it all day

    Bout a month ago... in the FTP $1k Monday...

    I'm sitting middle of the field just around the bubble, had 32k at 500/1k.

    Utg opens to 2800 (had me covered), utg+1 with about 27k 3-bets to 10k even, putting almost half his stack in, i was utg+2 with AA... decided to not insta-jam and wait about 5 seconds, well i wish i would've jammed instantly, i click all-in dont see my chips go in then the dreaded FTP window with the shuffling cards comes up...

    Sure enough log in a few min later and i have 30k, ended up bubbling final 2 tables in 19th. Who knows might've had my biggest score if i win that pot or i may have been bad beated by KK

    A couple months ago, I'm at my family reunion in the middle of nowhere in upstate NY and since everybody else is in bed by 9 PM, I decide to fire up some tournaments. I get deep in the nightly $70k on stars -- with around 18 players left I'm top 3 in chips (first is 13k, more than double my biggest score to date) and the internet starts going in and out. Miraculously, I'm still winning every pot I play when I'm connected but it keeps going out randomly for a few minutes at a time and I never know when it'll go out (sometimes when I'm in the middle of a hand.) Anyway, with 11 left I have around 600k (I think), another guy at my table has the same, and nobody else is above 300k and I pick up AKs on the button. The other big stack makes a standard raise and since I don't want to call or raise and then have the internet go out before the hand is over I decide to just ship it all in. He snap calls with QQ, the board blanks out, and I'm out in 11th. GG sanity.

    I got disconnected from the WSOP ME 200 seat satty on stars for about 1.5 hours....Still got the seat though, so it prob just saved me from donking off my chips and/or a bad beat story.

    was playing the ftp $100 6max and dced right on the bubble with a big stack; so like 4 tables are left. The internet didn't come back on for like 5 mins so I asked my dad if i could take my laptop to his office and play there. He gives me a card to get into the building, but when I get there its just way too confusing because theres not a place to swipe it and in my rush I forgot my phone to ask him what to do. So I race back home doing double the speedlimit and the internet is back on. I get back to my table and see I have like 10 bbs left. I continue playing and get it to headsup, then obv AK<K10

    I believe it was during the 2008 WCOOP that some guy who is a p5er disconnected and ended up playing from his car using McDonald's wireless and went on to win the tourney for like $100k.

    Smaller tournament, but FT with 9 left of the 44$ 5k guarantee on UB. I was sitting in about 6th. My internet cuts out, and I go nuts. Waiting for the internet to come back on, I start getting dressed, grab my keys and try once more. Doesnt come back on. I hop in my car, drove down the street and found a unlocked wireless. Come back on and there was 7 left. Finished the tourney in my car and obviously won.

    any disconnects i've had have ended up being beneficial in the long run, stressful as hell while d/c though. now falling asleep at the computer is what gets me into trouble :(

    Only ever been disconnected once but it worked out fine for me. Was in the top ten in a satty for the PCA. Got disconnected and no matter how hard I try could not get back on. Couldn't find any friends who were in to borrow theirs so I never got back on until the next morning. Log on to find out I won the seat

    The worst I've ever seen was bigegypt in the lobby in aruba. He was playing hu in the ftp 750k and had I think a 3:1 or 2:1 chip lead when the connect went out. His phone didn't work out there so couldn't call anyone I dont think. By the time he got back on the guy had something like a 7:1 chiplead on him and he quickly lost the hu. I forgot how much it cost him, I think around 60k or something.

    I just had a DC near the FT of a 12 turbo 180. I never have DC issues in years of play but this one knocked me in 20th (0.00 paid) when I know I had top 5 wrapped up.

    That's so sik C. Hey get a generator. They have some run quiet ones that get good fuel and work great. I'm installing one this winter since Detroit loses power all the time in the winter. Even installing a switch over so that the gen will jump into my home circuits without extension cords needed. Bout 3-5k to pull it all off depending on what you do but def. worth it if your town loses power at least once per year.

    And you will enjoy being the only baller on the block with lights. Such a great feeling!

    No happy ending here. I have always had an aircard and wireless, but my aircard stopeed working a few months before this and my lazy ass didn't do anything about it. I never got back online until I was blinded all the way off.
