  1. I have been thinking about getting a job part time just for fun, would this move be +ev for my social life? Honestly i never leave the house and like snowman was talking about i have no motivation to ever do anything besides sit on my ass playing poker. In the past 2 years I have made more friends than i can count, however I am typing to them instead of talking actual words.

  2. F jobs

unless drinking and going all in @ the bar counts as 1

just go out more... take some time off few days a week
  3. if i were you i'd get the most fun job i could like a music or sports store and just fuck around all day tryin to find the next peice of ass i'll be sleeping with if you get fired go grab another one (obv the $7 an hour wont be the issue)
  4. asiandude lets get a house somewhere. youre just lonely buddddddddy.
  5. A job for fun? You have a job and are good at it. Just find a hobby and play poker as your job. Once you make your quota for the month go to Hawaii :)
  6. Get jobs at convenience stores and what not just so you can get fired in the most creative way possible.

  7. "job part time just for fun"

    Sign of insanity
  8. I'm not a top teir guy by any means but here's my two cents. I don't know about a social life, but I would say 100% it would be better for your health. Sitting in the same spot, same room, same house for weeks on end is really crappy for your body. I like the idea of a fun job, some kind of sports store would be my bet, or Best Buy just because the place is so fucking cool.

But I would say if you're making a living at the tables, go to a real casino and play there sometimes too, interact with other guys at the table. A job is kind of a big commitment and I have a feeling you'd tire of it quickly (that was not a shot at you, just a guess). I would find a gym and sign-up if you're desperate, just a thought though.
  9. i kind of want a job where i can meet girls and fuck around, maybe get laid lol and def not have to work hard, i dunno bartender?

  10. I'm not a top player, but I had a crappy job a couple of years back when I started playing. There is a phenomenon where your real job becomes a nuisance (if its crappy enough or you're good enough at poker) and you realize you would be making more money sitting at home playing poker.

  11. i kind of want a job where i can meet girls and fuck around, maybe get laid lol

    college anyone?
  12. My brother is a bartender and has been for 14 years. If you want to have fun and get laid, that's your best bet. Then when you come home, do flips for your tips :)
  13. asian ... my advice would be to find something constructive like coaching a youth team. I coached football this year and loved it, plus it was a nice daily distraction from poker

  14. I weighed 290...started getting in shape to be a bartender got down to 225.....started playing poker a lot after bartending eventually quit bartending to cont. playing more poker.....Since, im back up to 250. i wasnt really playing well just sitting there all day. i would get down in the dumps and not want to do anything. so now i like to go hoop before i play.

i try my best to go to the gym and play basketball for a few hours before i play any poker. it seems to help me. it also limits me from playing high volume which usually ends in disaster for me. now i like to stick to a routine where i hoop by day, poker by night.

Also i would suggest bartending to you if you really wanted to get a part time gig that can allow you to still play poker. It also has other benefits, Hot Chicks, Booze and Parties.

Downsides would be dealing ornary drunks, bad tippers, and cleaning the bar when the shifts over.
  15. I agree. You could also volunteer somewhere a couple times a week. There are tons of nonprofit agencies that you could help out even if you only want to devote a few hours a week.
  16. Work in a club as a bottle host..in a club... in the vip
there is where you will smash the most ass,..
they throw themselves at your feet all for the hook up and will retun any favors.
  17. If you get a house, I will do the mortgage =)

  20. obv vip host would be sick but you probably need hook ups for that.

bartender seems to be a great way to meet girls and other non poker players, i would only do it 2 times a week max tho otherwise you'll get sick of it.

you could also take a grad school class or somethin like that, something other than poker to occupy time. start going to the gym, have designated nights not to play, go out to dinner w friends etc etc there are a lot of things to do.
  21. Pm allinstevie...
  22. $8 an hour making frys and other assorted fried goods. So pointless but good family life +ev?
  23. well obv only something part time and dont care about the pay, just more of a way to force my self to get out and meet people, how about a clothing store?

  24. that sounds fabuloussssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. How about a headshop you want to slang bongs? ;)
  26. bus boy or waiter in resturant, two days a week maybe, LOTS of yourng horny chicks at resturants. grabbing ass and titties, good stuff.

they would be like "how do u pay your bills on two days a week?" and u say "im asaindude7.....yada yada yada or w/e
    GL
  27. just thought about this and cant stop laughin how weird is it to get a 2 day a week job and say eh i just do this for fun lol
  28. Theres def better ways to meet people then to get a job. Jobs suck no matter what they are. It doesnt matter what it is, work is work.

edit:amusement parks sound like a fun place to work
  29. Excellent point by SITW. Coaching youth hockey is a great way for me to get out of the house, get a little excercise and not feel like a degenerate multi-tabling all day. Having done a lot of bartending jobs in the past, I can tell you that you will get a lot more of what you are looking for from a volunteer position in an area you are passionate about than a job dealing with drunk idiots all night.
