Is he only pushing 55, and Ax here? I insta-called, but thinking about it afterwards maybe I should have folded??? any insight would be appreciated.
  2. i'd probably call w/ KK also...

maybe i just dont understand tourneys but i really can't see him openshoving the non suited, non connected flop w/ an ace or 55...

i mean unless he was doing it as a matter of deception
  3. I would have folded with an Ace on board there. Plus I would have got to see the hand anyway. No need to go broke there.

Edit and to ashes what types of hands is he shoving that dont beat KK?
  4. Yeah, didn't think about the fact that I could see his hand without calling. Actually I didn't think about much of anything. As I said, I insta-called...I'm an idiot

You think he could be shoving JJ, or QQ though?

  5. It should depend a lot on how this guy has been playing... whether you call or fold, personally i think im calling a good chunk of the time
edit: but then again it is the main event...
  6. I hadn't been sitting at the table for very long. He didn't do anything out of the ordinary up to this point.

  7. Call me a nit. And you guys are obviously better at this than I am. But Im not CALLING off 80+BB's after a flop with two Aces on it when I will get to see the hand afterwards with KK.. The way I see it is if they are shoving a hand that doesnt beat KK in that spot, they are either really really bad and I will get his chips later or they are really really good and I hope they break the table so I dont have to play with him anymore.
  8. anybody else?...bump

  9. I think it's bad cause you insta-called with no reads. If I have no info, I don't think I can call here. I've seen people shove an ace here so many times. I lasted 3.5 hours in that tourney and never had above 10K in chips, great structure.
  10. really though. Would any of you guys put any other pairs in his shoving range here or is that just silly?

  11. and if you would put any other pairs in his range would it change whether or not I should fold?

  12. I def. see what AFink is saying and many guys will do this with an A.. in all honestly I would prob put time on and OPR the guy. If hes a crap player, im calling, if not then its on u, but folding wood work. I'd have many situations like this and once in awhile the guy does have the A, but its one of those things thats based more on the player imo. This is a medium-high risk, VERY VERY high reward situation as you will have a giant chip stack where you can bully ur table around quite easily...
  13. Yeah, this hand is all about 1) your read on the guy and 2) your stack/blinds. Since you don't have much of a read it just isn't good to be putting in basically 100BBs when you have no clue where you're at (and frankly, you'd need a VERY strong read to be making this call anyway). To put so much weight on him having something like QQ/JJ or any other pair 66+ is just way too spewy. You've got a very comfortable stack (and so does he) and in no way are either of you committed to this pot. You're not ahead on this flop nearly enough for snap-callage.

  14. thanks guys. that's obv a big leak of mine (not thinking about hands at all 'til it's too late). I appreciate your comments though and maybe I'll be smart enough to slow down in the future. I think when I posted originally I was hoping people would say I made an okay call...but that's a little obsurd. must've still been on a heater. you shoulda seen how i lost the rest of my stack...i'm a moron.
