I always wonder how others handle the situation. Primarily I'm asking this about live cash games, but I guess it applies to online too.
Let's say there's a fish or two just donating chips, you're playing your A game but you just can't get your hands to hold up. Tilt is a non-factor. Do you stay until the fish are gone? At what point do you just tell yourself that even though there's a lot of dead money floating around, it just isn't your night.
I always wonder because when I'm sitting at a table and taking beats, I handle them fine, in fact it works in favor since people perceive me as tilting. But everyone has those nights where you're just going through some bad variance. When do you stick it out and continue to play your A game, and when do you walk away knowing there's gonna be another time? When I play sngs and mtts online, I can walk away easily, but when you're looking at some huge stack in a cash game almost positive that *someone* will stack them before they leave, it's a lot harder (impossible) for me to leave if I know I'm still playing well. -
I play until my eyelids bleed from the toothpicks holding them up.

I don't leave unless I'm tilted, tired, or don't feel like playing. I won't just say, "hey it's not my night" after losing a few pots where I've been way +EV in. I've seen some crazy things, especially in PLO, and I try really hard to not let variance get to me.

cards have no memory. if you "run bad" one hand, it has no bearing on what will happen the next hand.
