$50NL cash game.
This is literally my first hand playing at this table on cake. On river I think his hand is polarized. Either huge hand or a stone cold bluff on missed flush draw.
I honestly can't see him checking the turn with a set here. I figure he rivered a set of 8s or he is bluffing.
Do you make the call with no reads other than how he played this hand?

I should also add that he shipped it in over top of my bet on the river SUPER FAST!

I go the other way with that thought, because it's way easier and way cheaper to find a donk. They always show themselves in about 10 observed hands.

No way I call this without any prior knowledge of this player when all I have is Ace high. Wait and pick a better spot; hopefully he makes a similar play when you have a hand.

Thanks for the responses guys! I elected to fold this hand after using all the time I had. He then told me in chat that he had KJ of hearts... who knows if he was telling the truth or not. Since he didn't actually show his hand I assume it was probably a value shove. I just wanted to know what most others would do. I really appreciate your responses :)

So you agree with me??? Or do you assume players are good until proven otherwise?
