  1. Full Tilt $2-$4 NL

HJ limps for $4. Button calls, SB completes and I (BB) check w/6c8c.

    Flop comes 3c10c4c. Bingo!

SB leads out for $12. I raise to $36. The HJ shoves for $120.90 and the Button calls (the button and I both started the hand w/$400 stacks). My read on the HJ is that he's a weak player but the Button is definitely a solid TAG.

I'm having flashbacks about cracked baby flushes and lay it down at the wire. The HJ shows 4h4s and the button shows Ac10s. The board bricks and I'm sick as the HJ rakes it in.

Based on the way they both limped preflop I put one of them on a suited Ace or King. The HJ's flop shove doesn't make any sense if he has the nuts, but the Button call has to represent either the nuts or the nut draw. I think I'm good here about 30% of the time, and based on that I'm getting a decent price to call. I must admit that I'm worried about things getting expensive on the turn if the button is trapping with the nuts or close to it. My EV assumptions go upside down in that scenario.

Did I wimp out here or was my lay down O.K?
  2. i think is was a good lay down bc u had two people all in after ur raise.
  3. You didn't really wimp out, you just played it safe. If button is solid TAG, you have to figure he either already has, or is drawing to, the nuts.

Two ways to look at this:
On one hand, you were only invested $40 and it would've meant risking your whole $400 on the flop or turn to pursue. Aside from folding, your options were essentially a) smooth call the $120 with the intention of moving all in if a non-club came on the turn. b) Pushing all in on the flop to try to take it down there or fade some outs if he's only drawing to a higher flush.

On the other hand, I understand you were BB, but what are you hoping to flop with 6/8c? You're looking to make a straight or a flush and bust a big hand.
  4. I like the fold
