  1. I dont have the HH in front of me but this is the situation. 8 handed in a turbo sng with the blinds at 40/80.

2 players fold to a donkish player who standard raises to 240. I have AKo so I flat call on the button.

The player in the BB, another donkey, shoves for around 850 from the BB and the original raiser flat calls, leaving around 300 chips behind.

I have 1450 if I fold, but I am getting nearly 3 to 1 to call with my AK against two horrible players, neither of which need much of a hand to make the plays they have made.

    What do I do?

I ended up calling. The original raiser had KQ, the shover from the BB had AJ, obv two Q's come on the flop and I am crippled.

As a rule I generally do not like to risk this many BB with just AK this early in a sng. Should I have mucked or is 3 to 1 too good a price to fold AK?
  2. push over original raiser
  3. You got all your money in a very dominant triple up position against with AK against KQ and AJ. Ship it to bad beats, or just unfortunate outcomes.

  4. Being a turbo sitngo and the fact that they were donks makes it a must call. I like reraiseing with AK rather than flat calling such a large bet. You got in with the best of it and got unlucky, well played.
  5. This isnt a sob story. As I said, i genreally try to avoid playing huge pots early in sng's with AK.

The point of this post is more along the lines of 'When are you getting too good of a price to fold?"

  6. I call, especially if they are as horrible as you seem to think. I try to play small pots too early in a sitngo but sometimes you have to gambool it up. This is one of those times.
  7. i personally wouldve pushed all in after the original raiser...i dont mind taking a shot to double up right there or take down a decnt pot if he were to fold...but flat calling would never enter my mind
