I really had to think about this one before I made my decision...i just had that "feeling" that I would see a boat if I call....am I just a scaredy player? is this a snap call or does it actually warrant some "thinking" time? -
OOP, with a 7 high flush on a paired board. Why would you bet, if you did not have a plan of what to do if you get raised.
If you don't know what to do, you should not bet, OOP.
If you bet what you were willing to lose, you fold because you can only beat a bluff.
If you think he's bluff raising, you call.
You are either way ahead or way behind.
I vote that you learn to play poker. -
I guess that is my biggest problems with tourneys, I just never seem to ask the obvious but needed questions such as "what will I do next?". Really I think I just need to focus on this more to sharpen my game. Thanks.

mybluedog gave some decent advice, even though he was an ass giving it.
Here is my take on the hand.
Preflop: fine
Flop: Why not lead out. You have a pair and a flush draw, but your flush draw is a low one and you have middle pair. If you had a pair of aces and the nut flush draw, I'd play it this way, but really, you shouldn't be scared to take the hand down here. Your check raise is ok, but when he calls, that can be scary. Still I don't think a set or 2 pair call here (they are raising).
Board pairs turn. Really, likely a nothing to both of you. He flats.
River hits your flush, you lead/he raises. This is where you really need to think ahead before you bet. What would you like to happen here? What do you do to various actions. What hands does he likely have here? I think he's either on some sort of draw or he got top pair, decent kicker. Because of this, he's likely folding to a bet if I have him beat, and he's pushing if I'm losing to him. Because of that, I like the check/call here (since it can induce a bluff also that wouldn't call your bet).
This just comes with experience. The more you play, the easier it is to mentally walk through hands.
One technique you can try is, once in awhile, don't multi-table. Just play one. On hands that you fold, look at a flop, and start discecting the hands. What if I had 10-9 here, what would I do. What do I think the opponents have. Sometimes, you'll get to see a river, and you can see if your ranges were right (and if you were off, see why you were off). This will allow you to participate in hands that you otherwise wouldn't be able to. -
C/r more on the flop. Have reads on villain? IDK, this river sucks because you can't get anything that beats you to fold and you can't get anything worse to call with the line you took, but checking back this river seems ridiculously weak. The other problem is that if you bet he can shove a smaller FD, although there aren't many of those, and you end up folding. I probably bet/fold the river and hope I get looked up by a King at this BI.
-
I'd put him on a FD way before a boat but I think he has you crushed. It's too early to take a stand with this hand. Fold
-
the c/r on the turn seems lol bad. If you must do it raise more. Isn't check calling ok?
I really don't like leading that turn either. doesn't seem like ur gonna get him to fold. I'd guess he has something. Why not see if he'll give you the free card and keep the pot small, esp considering how deep we are. If you hit and he has a hand he'll prolly pay you off anyway. -
I don't like the c/r on the flop. You're building a pot out of position with middle pair and a hope. Along the lines of planning ahead, what would you have done if he came over the top of the c/r? Folding would look horrible.
With a hand like yours OOP, I like a check/call to keep the pot small and to keep you from committing yourself. If you hit a 7, 5, or diamond on the turn, consider building. Otherwise, I'd play smallball again to get to the river.
I wouldn't fear a full house as much as I would fear a bigger flush. Trouble is, your 1800 deep into this hand now, whereas - had you played smallball - you might only be a few hundred deep. -
Ok, thank you all for the great advice...I clearly played this hand horribly but I will learn with time. This is one reason I love this site, I learn something new everytime I make or read a post.
For anyone curious, I ended up holding my breath and called the river and he flipped over Jc7c ... ended up going out in 51st of 180 later on in the tourney though :-/
