EDIT: This was recieved by e-mail from FirePay on 02/16/07
"Effective February 21, 2007, FirePay (www.firepay.com) will no longer allow Canadian consumer payments to online gambling merchants.
Effective February 28, 2007, FirePay (www.firepay.com) will no longer allow Canadian consumers to receive payments from online gambling merchants.
All Canadian FirePay account holders will continue to be able to makepurchases and receive payments from non-gambling online merchants, aswell as to "Deposit From" and "Withdraw To" their Canadian bankaccount."
Maybe we aren't so cozy with all our money online as we should be up here. If we've learned anything this past month from our American friends it's that the sword falls quickly. Don't get complacent with that fact that we're in Canada and we think we're just awesome. -
Thrasher - keep us posted on this - I was going to run up to Niagara Falls and open an account with RBC to avoid all the BS going on with the US...
I can't see this coming from government pressures as you guys are about as Libertarian as a country can be, but if it looks like it's headed in that direction - there are Americans who've found their out with Canadian accounts and I don't want that to be a pointless venture. (Although with the US dollar weakening to the Canadian - it ends up being a checking account with better interest than my US Savings...) -
Oh god if Canada bans online poker im killing myself
