end game play

    Ok guys... i've bubbled 4 final talbes in the last day and a half. on top of that the last few weeks have been littered with very deep finishes that amount to little or nothing as far as profits go because you have to make top 5 to make real money. I used to think that my endgame play was the strongest part of my game. Recently I've tried playing with disregard to the bubble to go big or go home and i've played slightly more conservatively to sneak in. neither strategy has worked recently. does anybody have some end game advice so that i can stop getting teased by the big money??

    Gents,

    It sure can be frustrating. I was going through this same dilemma last week after having the chiplead with 27 left in several tourneys over the last month. My best finish was 4th and finally this week I took down a 109 freezeout. You have to be playing well to continually get deep in these tourneys so make sure not to start second guessing yourself. I found myself saying "Oh here we go again" everytime I got down to two tables and sure enough something would go wrong. The tourney I took down I had a totally different mind set. I went in thinking OK enough is enough and tonight it's my night. I know this isn't the strategic advice you were seeking but I swear your mental outlook has an affect on how things play out. You're playing well and you'll take one down soon.

    thanks a lot detach. i think thats exactly what i needed to hear. i have enough confidence in my game i just am frustrated to be getting cockteased like that night after night. i appreciate the support. good luck with your poker.

    I have. i think all of the HOH books are probably the best tournament poker books out there but it has been a while since i last read it. im considering brushing up a little bit.
