  1. 5 people left and I have A9os first to act. I have 40k (10 bb). Am I supposed to shove to pick up the pot preflop (8-9k) even though I have a loose image? This was a 180 man Turbo tournament. I was 2nd or 3rd place and first place had like 80k.

    Ran into 99.

    Thanks
  2. I fold.
  3. This was a $2 turbo 180-man? A $12?

The reason I'm asking is to help figure out how much of an image you actually have. Most people in a $2 tournament aren't paying enough attention for you to have an image at all...so basing a decision on what you think others think of you doesn't work. The $11+1s have enough grinders that there are better players who might notice such things.

If you had full details on stacks and payout structure, you could run an ICM on it and see what your shoving range should be. Personally, I think it's a borderline fold, just because you're UTG. But it's probably fairly close.

  4. Grapsfan is right ICM calculation would be good. But you're 5 handed low in chips and have a reasonable hand.

The only problem is position. Someone is bound to call you and they'll have better hand. But you'll be in the blinds next and have some showdown value.

Tough spot. But he who dares wins.If you win you're in a good position to get 1st or 2nd.
