1. When legalized, the government will have access to results so I will be required to pay taxes on every dollar won.
2. They will probably ban the companies like pokerstars and full tilt so I would have to wave goodbye to all the euro and asian fishies that have been getting recruited at a record rate.
3. The UIGEA has no teeth to it whatsoever with it only banning transactions to the U.S. that are received by commercial entities so if you are a third-party provider or an internet poker site, you can't receive your money in the U.S. (NO EFFECT.)
4. Anything the government touches gets more complicated and generally gets screwed up. I don't know how they will screw it up yet but trust me they will find a way.
5. Online poker is the juiciest it has been in a long time and I'm not sure I want it to change. So you heard it hear first. BE CAREFUL FOR WHAT YOU WISH FOR. -
Well if it was legalized, wouldn't a lot of those things change?
When it wasn't specifically illegal, and we saw ".com" on television, they didn't ban us from those websites.
They wouldn't be banning payments if it was legal.
You don't sound very smart, not to insult your intelligence or anything.
All in.
Ban this guy or something lol. -
I'm not the engineer but I got this, homey.

2. They will probably ban the companies like pokerstars and full tilt so I would have to wave goodbye to all the euro and asian fishies that have been getting recruited at a record rate. Why would they ban the only sites that have tried to stop collusion, and underage players?

Its mostly about perception. Most Americans believe that playing online is illegal.
4. Anything the government touches gets more complicated and generally gets screwed up. I don't know how they will screw it up yet but trust me they will find a way.
