  1. Has anyone tried these yet? Just wondering how soft they are...

I may transfer some $ into Euros and give it a try (small fee). It is still in beta but it is available to everyone now.
  2. Suckout city. Be prepared. If you are not euro you don't run good enuff to play those tables.
  3. They are getting ready to switch over when they leave the US market here shortly after December 1st.

definitely a concern of mine, if switch to euro games is nothing to worry about the timing is bad
  6. He has none, he just posts this crap on p5s and 2p2. Stars reps have already squashed that "theory". Would stars tell us ahead of time? Probably not, but you would think the Euro tables would be out of Beta by now with only 12 days to switch over. I will believe the pokerstars rep over his babbling bullshit until it happens.

Euro tables are being created because they must have them for licensing of online poker in Italy and France.

This is just random baseless fear mongering. There's no "real news" about any of this. As is the usual case, we typically suspend or ban posters who repeatedly post false information as if it's a fact. You can expect the same if this continues.

Definitely true. If this had happened over summer, I don't think people would be all that concerned about it.

I would be lying if I wasn't slightly concerned about everything going on. However, I just don't see them pulling out of their biggest market. Maybe at some point, PS will finally decided it is too difficult to accept and process deposits/cashouts, and pull out of the US. I just don't think that will be Dec. 1st, or anytime soon.

The most amazing thing of all, is that we even have to worry about all of this BS, in a country that prides itself on freedom. Let freedom ring...

cliff notes on dec 1st , keep seeing it in loads of threads
  10. Yes it is scary and the timing is horrible but perhaps stars is just "covering their butts" and trying to expand to the Euro market as well.

Think of how much money FTP and Stars have spent on American add campaigns recently. Why would they spend this money sponsoring the WSOP, Poker after Dark, Face the Ace, and the adds associated with those if they were leaving the market?

I think this situation was a wake up call for them. They realize that the US government is cracking down and these companies have no plans to pull out of the market now, but they don't know what may happen either so they are just being careful by trying to build a Euro market so it doesn't hurt them as much if they lose US players.

I doubt these companies will leave the US as they are the top companies who take US citizens. They won't leave without a fight. There's so much money in the US and they've poured so much into US advertising, they're not going to wave the white flag and give up that easily.

no. euro players have been requesting euro tables for some time from stars. if stars wants to be competitive in the euro market they have to match ipoker/partypoker and other major euro competitors and offer games in their own currency.
  12. save us the trouble adam and drop the banhammer on him now

IMO this is a great thing, last I heard the euro was more stable than the dollar. I may even switch over, how upsetting would it be to go on a sick run and find out because the exchange rate dropped your nice session just became break even. that may be a bit extreme but the forex markets are volatile at best for us average Joes, its not something I would want to have to worry about if I were a European player.

Very good point. I failed to even think about that aspect. The amount of money they spent during the WSOP on sponsoring players, commercials, special hand segments with Pros, etc... I really doubt they would be putting that much money into a market they are pulling out of in 1-2 months.

  17. Obviously, this does scare the crap outta me as it should all of you.

With no word on stars about the upcoming legislation and the timing of this release on software change. The signs kinda point to stars possibly bailing on the US market.

I thought this months ago when the option showed up back in July. Though I have no proof I'm like any good company they are creating backup plans just in case.

I know a lot of you would prefer to think things are going to keep gong as normal but the facts are Online Poker is under a major attack in the US.

Well obv. mate but that doesn't mean they're pulling out. There's a battle being fought but no surrender yet and I don't see them planning to without putting up one hell of a fight. Billions of dollars at stake.

Everyone said the exact same thing about party poker back in the day which is obv why i'm a little worried about stars right now. Its extremly niave to not have this thought in the back of your mind about stars though.

  22. why would stars just hand over all those people to ftp and make them even bigger. plus they arent traded publically. party was trade on some market. when they pulled out the stock hit rock bottom pretty fast
