Are you ever not giving him the pile on the river or should I have known it was a huge cooler?

His river raise is really gross...I mean, hair-raising. What is he re-raising with pre-flop that he plays passively on the flop & turn...but raises a completely innocent-looking river? He's got a monster. Now, at these stakes, he might think his AA or KK is a monster. But I'd like to think I just call the river raise.
This discussion would have been MUCH more interesting if you had edited the hand history to just reach your decision point to the river raise, and removed the rest. -
Yeah, the passive line then tons of strength on the river should make you think that QQ is possible. Any time the preflop aggressor checks behind on the flop you should be thinking a trap is possible.
If you think a 9 is in his range or JT, then that would be possible. Along with AQ. So obviously never folding.
Same as grapsfan, I like to think I just call the river raise here - but the shove is not terrible either. It depends on the read. -
I don't think it's a "call or shove" river spot. I think it's a call or fold. When you shove, what's he calling with that you can beat, other than maybe 55?
