  1. SO i just bought a new monitor for multitabling, but can't seem to get the extended desktop option to work so i can put tables/lobbies/etc on my laptop. I have been able to get a mirror image on both screens but i would like to be able to make use of both screens... Messed around in graphics properties and couldn't figure it out, any help is appreciated
  2. Control Panel -> Display

    Click settings tab.

    Click the "2" monitor.

    Click the "extend my desktop to this monitor" box.

    Your welcome.
  3. had this same problem with my labtop + new monitor. I tried calling the labtop company for help. they wanted to charge money for tech support. I tried to call the monitor company for help, they told me I needed to handle it on the laptop end, and go call their support!

    needless to say I eventually settled for just using the monitor. hopefully we get some help...
  4. dunno bout OP, but when I do this ^^^ I lose my connection to the monitor altogether, and have to reboot. (when I click extend the monitor immed says "no VGA signal, going to sleep")
  5. I have tried going into the settings tab, but for some reason i don't have the "1" and "2" boxes.

    Have you been in the setting tab while you have the mirror effect going??
  7. Yes, i have been in while mirror effect was enabled, as well as when i just had output on my monitor and a blank laptop screen... My laptop is 4 years old and has max resolution of 1280x800 whereas my monitor has 1680x1050, idk if that makes any difference...

  8. you should be able to just right click on the desktop, then go down to graphic options, then go to output to, then click on extended desktop this should work, this is what I have to do
  9. If your OS is windows vista you should right click on your desktop then click on "personalize" then click "display settings" that should take you to the screen1 screen2 screen. You can designate which monitor is which and select resolution and such.

    If this helps cool if not oh well

    yea i thought i finally figured it out when i tried that, but when i do click what you said, my laptop goes black, and when i go to right click again those options are unavailable :( Always end up having to reboot, oh well, playin on my monitor isn't bad, but it would be convenient to get this fixed

  11. Make sure you have the screen on your laptop only when you try the extend. If you are on the monitor, or are mirrored between the 2, you can have problems.
