  1. I recently bought an external monitor to hookup to my laptop and it has given me all kinds of trouble since day 1. After hooking up the VGA cable to my laptop the monitor seems to run fine for 10-15 minutes. However, randomly the screen will just fade out and the pixels turn white and eventually the monitor will turn off. Initially I thought it was a defect with the monitor however I have had times where it works for a couple hours before the screen decides to fade out. This makes me think that it might be the settings on my laptop not the monitor. Also, anytime I unplug the power cord and reconnect to the monitor it works perfectly for that 10-15 minute time period. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a Sony Vaio notebook and Im running Windows Vista. Here is a link to the monitor: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?Sku=A466-2300

  4. Sounds like a lemon. If you're running windows, click on the power icon in your system tray by the clock and follow it from there to get to your power management settings. Set the external monitor to never time out/turn off and see if the problem persists.
  5. mkae sure the vga cord is plugged in all the way
