Okay, so I have a hanns g 27.5" monitor set up with my gateway laptop, which has a cracked screen that is not viewable. My problem is with this monitor, the computer is using it as the primary and only monitor, but is still using my computers max resolution of 1024x768. While my monitors maximum resolution is much higher. My question is how do I set my monitor to its maximum resolution so I can view more tables and what not?

Yea, I've tried this but the max is set at 1024x768 b/c thats the max for my laptop.... how do I make it a higher resolution that matches the maximum of my external monitor?

OK thanks, but, how do I find my video card specs? Sorry I'm some what of a N3WB with computers

Also, I've looked at downloadable drivers for my laptop on gateway.com but am unsure as to which driver I need to download. Any help greatly appreciated.
