  1. Okay, so I have a hanns g 27.5" monitor set up with my gateway laptop, which has a cracked screen that is not viewable. My problem is with this monitor, the computer is using it as the primary and only monitor, but is still using my computers max resolution of 1024x768. While my monitors maximum resolution is much higher. My question is how do I set my monitor to its maximum resolution so I can view more tables and what not?
  2. For Windows XP (assume same with Vista)

    Right click on your desktop.
    -Graphics Properties
    -Display Settings
    -Screen Resolution

Youd have to upgrade your laptop graphics card, which is a pain in the fucking ass to do.
  5. Your video card must not support the higher resolution.

Verify the video card specs on the laptop manufacturers support site and upgrade if necessary.

Another option would be to buy a docking station- most have their own video cards in them.

  7. it doesn't have to be a hardware issue, try updating your drivers first. and install the software that came with the monitor. i have 2 of these, they're fantastic, you'll love it :)

  8. Also, I've looked at downloadable drivers for my laptop on gateway.com but am unsure as to which driver I need to download. Any help greatly appreciated.
