  6. "The largest of these forfeiture cases, filed in December and involving $5.1 million, began in June after task force officer William Marik was notified by a witness that he had received a payout check of online poker winnings from Arrow Checks."

what kind of douche would go and do that

  7. thats nice - the us government takes money from its citizens - what a shocking revelation

  8. "Those bank accounts were used to issue checks that represented proceeds from online poker play at Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker, according to online poker players in the state of Washington who received them and spoke to government investigators"

That makes me sick to know that some online players have snitched on us. Well, at least now I know where the money went and what has been the hold up.

You can hardly blame a player for telling the truth when questioned by a federal investigator.
  10. Just curious - if you live outside of Washington state, but visit, can you play on stars? Do they block players based on residence or where you're accessing the site from?

I believe that it is now a class C felony to play online poker while in the state of Washington.

Thats why you politely say if you don't have a warrant I have nothing to say and shut the door. Why are some people such pussies when it comes to the man?

the money was not in washington. they seized accounts elsewhere that had wired money/sent checks to players in Washington and charged them with violating the inter-state wire act.

A ton of pissed off Absolute players...
A ton of witness protection, on paper for illegal gamboling types...
A ton of pissed off players i.e. horrendous player security, cheated, and or customer support...
Any computer geeks the feds farm out, again tons...
Pretty sure the man has a very well nit group of players, on every site and forum nowadays tho. Bet their push fold is pretty tight too...

You poker 1%'ers really need to be more involved in all aspects of poker imo.
  22. our government is so ass backwards its not even funny
  23. Guess this explains the "yeah, so those withdrawals that have been in limbo for 50 days didn't work, want a paper check?" email from FTP today. This blows...

i've been thinking about this lately. i have a very good understanding about how some of the 3 letter agencies work and this has to be the case
  26. how does it go again? i love this country but fuck our government...

    +1
  28. This is worrisome. I feel like if they are this determined to give online poker processors this hard of a time, what stops the government from pounding entirely on online poker at some point?
  29. If anyone lost any money related to this seizure I would like to know about it. I'm a lawyer here in Texas and am considering writing an article on this and the Kentucky case focusing on whether or not the feds or a state government has jurisdiction to act in these situations. I could use a personal angle (anonymous if you are worried about Team America).
  30. Dang. This explains a lot. I don't think I am shocked by this at all.
