  1. 251 entries....down to final 10....we start at 4 pm today....extremely short stacked...

blinds antes are 2000/6000/120000...I have 73,000....average stack is 125,000...I start off UTG, redraw at 9 handed.

Do I push any hand UTG? do I wait for a few hands?
  2. 2000/6000/120000????

    I assume you mean 6K/12K with a 2K ante?
  3. lol....yep

  4. Since it'll be the first hand, i think people will be less likely to call you light, but I don't know that shoving ANY hand will be profitable. That said, I'd probably shove ATC UTG in that spot.

    *shrug*
  5. What are the other stacks like? (in particular the BB & SB)

What are your personal goals (I know winning, but are you just hoping to make the next payout? or are you truly playing to win?).

Obviously with 6 BB's your options are limited, but more info would be nice to have about stack sizes and where they are in relation to you at the table. If you fold the next 3 hands through the blinds you will be left with 49K and NO fold equity whatsoever. That being said, if you get 72 and the BB is the big stack, then I would fold and take my chances in the BB next hand! If the BB and SB are both avg or less stacks then I push ATC for sure though!
  6. check your pm's

  7. most people just wanna move up a spot or 2..so w that said u could fold alot of hands..and shove a wide range. if u double ur in good shape. if u wait til the blinds then u lose alot of fold equity.
i was just at the final table of the 560 this wk there..GLGLGL

Great questions. Truly playing to win. I made one other circuit final table a few years ago and blew it. Looking for personal redemption.

there is one big stack of 250K in the bb of what would be my button. I think I am seen as relatively tight at my table. I was pretty much card dead most of tourney and got lucky a few times. opening raises seem to be about 2.5X bb.

What about an opening raise of say 30K leaving 42 K behind? Would it smell like I wanted a call? bad idea?

    NO NEVER..WOW..PLEASE NO

  10. I think at this point with 6 bb's there is no need to fk around with half stack bets. From the sounds of it, losing 73K would hurt most people at the table and even though they will know what ur doing, they will probably need a decent hand to call you here, and if the big stack will be the BB when u have the button and only 49K, then I have to go with shoving ATC as there will be more than half your stack in the middle at this point!

with 38K in the middle and the stacks like you say, then rolls the dice and takes ur chances I think brother!

GLGL I hope it works for you!
  11. blind shove
  12. whatever u do (hopefully that involves some bet, where u never fold no matter what comes) please do not say anything to the table. and def do not tell the table anythign to do w/ blind shoves, let alone actually shove blind. Take your time, "considder" your options, take a good look at your cards, and then no matter what u see, ship it in. GL TID.(If u win thsi pot uncalled, ship in the next time it folds to u)
  13. ^^^^^^^^^ This is why he is ARI^^^^^^^^^^^^

Never thought to tell him to keep his mouth shut, but please listen to ARI.

Also love the bracketed advice....This ARI guy must know a thing or two about pokah!
  14. If you don't push pre it will cost 22k to "fold into position" -> you'll have 51k left and will then get called by the blinds. Not good. Standard raise of 2.5 BB is 30k that leaves you 53 behind. IMO if you are going to bet more than 25/33% of your stack you should really just shove. What if you have 2-4 and the flop comes 8-T-A, will you still push on the flop?

So the only thing to do is to loom at your cards for a few seconds and then sigh and shove your chips in the middle. Hopefully players in early position will fold because it's the first hand and there are still bigger stacks to act behind them and then hope the blinds have garbage and you race.

And who knows, maybe you do get strong hole cards...

Good luck, let me know what the outcome is. Also wp for making it this far. Will you be in AC around X-mas/New Year?
  15. well wtf happened?

  16. yes results please

. We got to the final table of nine a few hands later after Robert Sichelstiel, all in with K-9, was up against Martin's pocket kings. Sichelstiel busted out when the board came 5-5-A-10-J and Martin edged into the lead with 183,000. Play began with blinds of 6,000-12,000 and 2,000 antes, 39:52 on the clock.

    <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td>10.
</td><td>Bob Sichelstiel AKA "Darthsikle" (King of Prussia, PA, USA)</td><td>$903</td></tr></tbody></table>
  18. Standard shove, ul sir.
  19. 1st Hand. I swore to myself I would shove no matter what. I look down at 6-10 os. I think, fold my hands and muck. I couldn't do it. Thank God as someone in MP shoved and showed QQ. Everyone else at this table seemed to love to show hands. It was insane.

2nd Hand. I am BB. Folded around to the button who shoves. I look down at A-6 os. I have to think back. He was a pretty tight player. I muck. Once again, a player shows his hand. A-K. I start to feel good.

3rd Hand. 3-4 os. MP raises. I fold.

4th Hand. I am Button. Folded to me. I look down at K-9 os. I am certain K-9 is a favorite against random hands. Especially the blinds. I shove. Small Blind call. BB folds. I tell him I just have K high, small blind says "sorry, you're in big trouble" He shows KK. I do my Phil Laak impersonation. I jump up. Run into the stands and tell everyone I want to watch it on TV. No sweat value at all. Out in 10th only $900.

I like my move. I think I would do it again given the circumstances.

I leave and just make it in time for Borgata 7:00 pm 100+20; 15K guranteed. Take 12th out of 237 in that for a whopping $300 payday.
