I know as a part time poker player we simply can't log the hours of a grinder, pro, or other full time player. Trying to balance school and two jobs is hard enough, then you gotta throw in the social life. The answer to when can I fit poker in would be easy in this case: whenever I can. My question to everyone is how do they balance their lives and stay at the top of the leaderboard? What do you do that frees you up for the majors on Sunday? During the week? Any and all feedback can help a great discussion.

Most don't have lives. Some don't go to school, get up at noon play all the way til 3-4am, then go back to bed, rinse repeat...then go out on Fri/Sat nights or something for social life. I dink around most of the day, don't go to school, and play 5 nights a week somewhat (not as hard as I should be) and then try to go out on the weekends and do dinner/lunch with friends on the daily. Sunday everyone just says everything else is off limits. When I first started talking to this girl I was interested in dating, I told her I could never do anything on Sundays and she understood. Plus, Sunday is an easy day to set stuff aside to play all day. If you have 2 jobs, school, and want to play poker that's just ick, cuz to get good at poker it's as time consuming as all three. You can't study the game, never have time to play, and expect to be really good...gotta log the hands. Once you get good at poker tho you can throw the other 2 micro jobs out the window. Roommate wants to get a job cuz he hasn't started winning on the regular yet, but once you do, you can piss 7 bucks/hr at poker imo.

It's that time again my fellow poker players, I'm in a bad downswing. Do you start questioning your play when it happens for a long time
