This Saturday, we're having a freeroll with no deposit requirements that includes all P5ers worldwide.
Fleet Street Games is a new subscription (no rake) site based inside the U.S. It was founded by Dan Goldman, former Vice President of Marketing for pokerstars. The site is going live for real money in September, but in the meantime you can play there for free and gain entry to their exclusive $50k Freeroll on Sunday, Aug. 31.
Our freeroll this Saturday will take place at 6 p.m. Eastern Time. The following prizes will be paid out:
1st - 1 year paid membership to Fleet Street Games, $50k Freeroll Entry
2nd - 3 month paid membership to FSG, $50k Freeroll Entry
3rd-10th - 1 month paid membership to FSG, $50k Freeroll Entry
11th-20th - $50k Freeroll Entry
Again, this tournament has no deposit requirements. They will, however, be restricting registrations to those who have clicked through a banner or link here on P5s before signing up. They are testing out the response from the P5s community to determine if if it will make sense to do more promotions with us, and they want to see how many new people come to play for this event--hopefully we can show them a great turnout!
The link to click through is: http://www.fleetstreetgames.com/?btag=FSG_P5freeroll
Twice per day, FSG's support team will be going through the list of players who have signed up through this link or our banners and manually adding them all to this tournament. In other words, you will be automatically registered if you sign up through this link. If you sign up and are still not registered for the P5s freeroll after a full day, you can email sharon@fleetstreetgames.com for help getting in. This will also apply to players who already had an FSG account.
The last chance to sign up for this event is at 4 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday. To be absolutely sure you're properly tracked, you may want to clear out your browser's cookies before clicking it, particularly if you have been to FSG's website before. Our link, again, is: http://www.fleetstreetgames.com/?btag=FSG_P5freeroll
Good luck, and please let us know what you think of the site!
--Adam
PS - I'm getting numerous PM's from people asking if they can get into the tournament or other similar questions. Please be advised that I don't know anything beyond what I've posted in this thread. For more in depth info, you need to contact FSG directly. -
#1 - If you have an account already email FleetStreetGames and he'll enter you in.
#2 - You don't get a password, you get entered in automatically. -
I live in South Carolina and got this message upon registering, " We are sorry, but you do not live in a state where it is legal to play in FSG freeplay real money games. Therefore you will not be able to receive funds in the T$ account at this time.". Thought this was open to everyone.

Fleet Street Games is open to everyone in the US states where subscription games are legal - click here for a list. Unfortunately, SC isn't one of them. If you live in one of these states, a quick email to your legislators wouldn't hurt a bit.

One more note - the lobby says that a password is required - it isn't. If you register through the link in Adam's message or by clicking one of our banners here, you will be registered automatically. Note that we are only updating this 2x/day, except for Saturday, when we will update in real time from 9a-1p PDT.
If you have any problems, email support@fleetstreetgames.com or click on the "Live help" link in the lobby.

Did you go through the link, if not email support. If you did just download it through Adam's link, you're good to go. -
Hello
I am a member on both FleetStreetGames & PocketFives, where do I get the Password for the Tourney on Saturday? My name on both is -Blue-Eyes-
Thanks
Joyce -
I'm in, DWProdigy. And I don't think I feel the need to list my P5's sn like some other :P
-
wheres the email?
-
I confirm the RNG is running normal, I have got 55 as my best hand in 76 hands dealt, pretty normal for me.
UPDATED: Also some suggestions, not sure if they are welcome, but i don't care really. You have to be able to resize the tables somehow, if there is a way it's much to complicated. You cannot see mucked cards, and my AA lost to TT that's the big one :). -
I am a user of both pocket fives as sweetddonnalee1
and at fleet street as purpleart19
can you register me for the tourney -
Question:
How is this type of poker site allowed in the US?
I realize that they do "subscription."
But, why couldn't, for example, pokerstars do the same thing? -
Yes, pokerstars could do the same thing, but they haven't

Subscription poker is legal in 38 states plus the District of Columbia. It falls under contest law rather than gambling, the (rather arcane) distinction being (1) you pay a flat fee, so it's membership rather than arbitrary risk, and (2) the prize pools don't vary based on the number of players.
This last brings up some sort of obvious strategy - you should watch the lobby and see what tournaments tend to attract less players, since your EV is directly tied to this number (since prize pools are fixed).

For account security reasons, we CANNOT enter you just by virtue of your posting your player name here. If you are already an FSG member, email sharon@fleetstreetgames.com and she will look you up and manually enter you into the tournament. Note that you MUST email her from the account you have registered on FSG.

We have just done the first of two manual updates for today - if you are a registered player you should now be on the list in the tournament lobby for the freeroll (tournament 5016692). If your name does not appear there, email sharon@fleetstreetgames.com and give her your FSG player name and she will look you up.

Yes - I know.

When the UIGEA passed in September of 2006, it became unclear whether, as an officer of PokerStars, I could enter the US without fear of arrest. I was living on the Isle of Man at that point, which is frankly not the greatest place on earth to live, but wasn't all that bad provided that I could get back to the US regularly. When this became questionable, my wife and I started to seriously evaluate whether working for PokerStars was worth the potential risk.
All things being equal, I would much rather have stayed with PokerStars, which is a TERRIFIC company. I was there from the beginning, and still remember, for example, the first day we had 100 new players and the first day we had 1,000 players logged in simultaneously. But the legal situation made staying a far too difficult decision.

I use to be a chat moderator for pokerstars. Are there any positions that I can fill? I'd love to work for you guys and have a very strong resume.

Guys,
Please don't PM me for entry into the freeroll. For security reasons, we can only enter you if you request to be entered by emailing us from the email address you have registered with FSG (unless you clicked on the link in Adam's post or one of our banners, in which case you will be entered automatically). Send an email to sharon@fleetstreetgames.com and she will take care of your entry.
