With the idiot end of the straight, you have to bet at it. Especially with a flush draw out there. It is a vulnerable hand, so you need to protect it.
-
also make note that you were playing the hand with the blinds. You could already be beat with a better str8, also koro is exactly right. gottat make a 3/4 or pot sized bet

Whenever you flop a big hand you want to get as much money or chips in on the flop. I would have checked this flop to the players behind you and try to do a big check raise because MANY hands hit this flop, espicially blinds where they would most likely fire, hands like any pair when checked to, pair + straight draw, all straight and flush draws, the reason you do not want to slow play a hand here is because many scares can come that will slow you down or kill your action vs someone that might have played a big pot with you if you had put your money in on the flop.

" Whenever you flop a big hand you want to get as much money or chips in on the flop" I disagree with this. Why does everyone always want to get all in on the flop or preflop? I think what you should say is whenever you flop a big hand, you want to find the best way to get the most chips possible.
Also, i dont like the check here. I would rather just bet at it setting the tone for the rest of the way the hand is going to be played. -
I was the BB.
I bet the flop, guys. My question is really the flop bet....too little?
