Greetings,
So I'm trying out playing a bit more of a LAG style.
1) I reckon I should be flatting pre in this instance to hit the nut flush, or two pair situations.- Tell me if off the bat this is a terrible idea or mathematically incorrect?
2) On the flop, I thought check raising would be the most profitable line?
3) The bu v, was unknown but I reckon he would be doing his 4-betting betting with AK, AQ, AJ, KK, QQ,+ Or should i have really put a set in v's range? In hindsight this was such a M-way pot, that I should be 100% putting a made set in V's range, and 3-bet fold? -
3.B) ALSO Apologies if I'm using 4-betting in this instance incorrectly- I don't want to become one of those fish who use jargon incorrectly, so if someone could clarify if 3-betting and 4-betting ONLY apply to PRE or if the terms can be utilized post as well?
4) I did my google dillegence and couldn't figure on using poker stove how to calculate it, to try and figure out what the *naked* odds of flopping 2 pair vs a set are and couldn't really find anything. If some awesome being, that knows their maths well, if you could please walk me through how I can come up with the equation or a rough idea bout the thought process? I reckon there is some combinatrics stuff involved (things involving n-1, k ish) so if you could explain it if you were explain it to a 3-year old child that would make my day.

Thanks for your weigh-ins in advance. I really do read every response and take the time to think about things and how I can adjust better. -
you played it fine the whole way, i like check raise, once he raises you you get it in all the time. sounds like you are over thinking a pretty simple hand. I assume you lost to a set or something because otherwise you wouldn't be posting this hand, anyways get in if you lose on to the next tournament

Hey, Thanks for your reply. Good to know, my general thinking was correct :) . The reason why I'm asking the questions is because I really want a comprehensive understanding of what is going on. Information and understanding obviously are an edge so wan't to really maximize and know the why's in poker, hence my questions. Stagnation is something I try to avoid, so don't want to just do the exact same thing and not know why I'm doing it. -
this is an easy ship. He could be doing that with a big ace, this is simply never a fold in my books
