AA get broken more in Florida than any place I have ever played. I saw AA KK QQ JJ AA and KK all broken in Gulfsteam in a one hour session by donks pushing all in with any two gapped connectors such as 4 7 off etc.

I had QQ JJ KK all cracked by rags and got up and left. If you cant Isolate at least one to three players max then get off the table. There are some sane players at the ISLE and WPB. Hard Rock is not a poker place when they bet 100 a hand in Black Jack with worse odds.

They see they have two cards and a 30 percent chance of maybe winning 5 to one odds they call anything.

Fact is I rarely get AA but crack them all the time.

Reason why:

The low buy in 100 MAX/MIN or {50 MIN at the ISLE in Pompano} only creates two games:

CHIP up over 100 chips so you have bullets and a stack. Most call shoves because they see it as a chance to chip up. You will average 2 to 3 callers on any shove with 100 behind you.

Then try and play normal poker once you have 200 to 500 in chips.

So how do you beat the Florida donk fest.

A buy in for the minimum I play {50 max} on the 5 10 table. I am still a short stack with an M of 6 max or M of 3 min so why risk 100 to get over 100 in chips the max buy in. You have better odds and less fold equity with $50

With 50 bucks you bet or raise $35 to $45 and you will get 3- 5 callers NO MATTER what hand you have.

So you want to play multi way hands that play well with 4 or 5 callers.

Raise with Small pairs and Suited connectors early. Call or limp multi way late position)

AK to A10 S are shove hands in position limp hands out of position under the gun and early.

I have never seen so many people shove 100 USD in with a small pair to mid pair and wonder why they lose money. They never get proper odds and only get called by big As or overs or get no callers.

So you must realize that until you have chips and in your case you only had $100 AA is not a great hand in Florida. If you limp and get 5 callers your an underdog.

If you raise and Isolate with it 45 to 75 you might get 3 callers with 100 behind you.

Shoving means you have small to mid pair and you will get exactly what happened over cards calling or suited connectors or ATC calling you. Knowing they are beat hoping to get lucky.

So moral of the story. Play position and very tight. Keep pots small and expect the donks to call any raise so play the flop and keep pots small.

$100 shove will not push most Hard Rock players off a hand so make the bet 55 to 75 and then they think you want a call and they will lay down weak hands.

At the ISLE play $50 and put in $35 to $45 maximum 4 times and you will chip up if the odds are right one out of 3 hands. Play : Any J10 S Q 10
K 10 K 9 Late. Early K rag s Q r s A10 or higher and big pairs only. Small suited connectors dont chip up well. Limp with all small to mid pairs and see a flop. If you get raised you will get true odds and get paid on your sets.

If you dont chip up over 100 with $50 then change tables and try again. With $600 bank roll you will chip up at least once at one of the tables and then play poker till you double your bank roll 1200 in chips then leave the table if there arent any bank rolls equal to yours.

All the small stacks chipping up will push against you as you are now the most likely to call shoves.

Be a hit and run artist and play minimums and you will be profitable. That is what works now and throw all the books out the window till we get higher buy ins.

DONT over value AA unless you have at least 300 average stacks on the table where the chip up phase is done.

NOTE all the above will soon be history once the New NO LIMIT laws pass.

Then back to traditional poker we hope. The first two to three weeks will be a blood bath for the Shove artists.

I know those Florida donkeys well. This past weekend i actually flew into florida just to make some money, paid $400 for a ticket but def. expected to more than make up for it at the tables playing 1/2.

This happened Saturday:

tight player raises to 10 UTG, next player (calling station) calls, i look down at QQ. Cant fold and dont want everyone else behind to make "pot odds" calls. I raise to $25 to iso.
tight player calls, station calls. At this point i'm through as I put the tight player on KK or AA.

Flop Q84 rainbow (never saw a more lovely flop(

tight player bets $50 with about $65 behind
station calls with about $300 behind
i smooth call as i have them both well covered

Turn rainbow 9 (still no flush draw and only JT has me beat

tight player moves all-in as I knew he would
station calls
i raise another $125 on top, staion calls

River Ten

station lights up and moves all-in for about $125
i throw up in my mouth and make a crying call
calling station flips over pocket Jacks, tight player had pocket Kings

How one makes those calls with JJ on a Q high board I'll never get... that river card cost me a $1K pot and I still turned a nice profit on the weekend trip, playing 1/2 NLHE.

Clovus we had talked once and I was to look you up when coming to Florida. With this law change thing I actually think I will move to Miami, they are that bad.
