I knew the guy was quite fishy/loose, so was 90% sure I was ahead.
  2. No you didn't. With your chip stack and the blind level and this hand you only have one move.
  3. Please, tell us you're kidding about foldiing [QdQs] in this spot.

If you're not kidding, then tell me how you predict the villain is going to catch his [A].

Range for FTA raise in UTG+1 is ATs+,88+,KJs+ for most any player in $5.50 events (in fact their opening requirements are probably much wider).

You're so far ahead here, it's not funny.

Don't beat your self up on these small things. It's just poker variance. It happens to all of us. The sooner you see this and move on to the next game, the better off you'll be.

You should thank your lucky charms cereal leprecan everytime you get called by [AJ]s.

If you think about folding 68:32 favorites, you shouldn't play poker.

What hands do you want to wait on [A] high?
  4. Your play is delicious. Just got unlucky.
  5. Thanks for the replies, in response I obviously am very happy when he calls but just wondered if anyone else would have played it different. Similar thing happened to me in A £50 FO in DusktilDawn (Notts). Villain raised from mid position, I picked up AA in the big blind so re-raised him 3 times his raise, he goes all-in with JJ, I call and he turns a J. Any benefit to maybe just calling the initial raise then going all-in on the flop?

  6. With regards to the AA hand you want to get as much money in the pot as early as you can, and if he is willing to get it all in before the flop w/ JJ take that every time. With your QQ hand, if you are deeper stacked you could make a case for flat calling and re-evaluating after the flop, however this is a better play with a pp that is more vunerable (like 88 or 99). With the stack sizes and the structure, you had one move. If he has you beat or sucks out on you. GG and on to the next. You did exactly what you were supposed to do, so you can feel good about that. IMO.
