  1. is it real , or simply a place to angle other regs

also, top 1000/500k badge hardly seems like HSMTT. Should have been like top 500/1mil badge, or maybe even top 200, 2mil badge, or something along those lines. I think its gonna really cluttered really soon. Just my $0.02

if enough people agree, lets get this changed ASAP since its still in its early developmental stages.

  2. this is not real.

  3. Sick bargs about Mill-ball badges and ranking badges.

    Reason: Badges.
  4. Agree that it should be top 500 or 1m badge, but this is def a start

  5. meh, i don't totally disagree... but for a forum that's already going to have a relatively low amount of post volume as it is, i think reducing the amount of eligible posters (especially this early on) isn't a gr8 idea. would rather see how this thing works out after a few months as it is now and then decide how to improve upon it.

  6. what about guys who haven't put vol in ages n are ranked like 680 but they're HS regs or well known at least?

that's why it goes by ranking or prizes (you only need one, not both).

  8. this forum just makes me want to get my milly badge so i can keep posting even if the rules are changed

  9. I think for the first month we should leave it the way it is and let every1 who is now qualified give his input. Then once the forum has got some content and is running decent, it should become more exclusive.

Let's say, top 300 and $1M badge+ have access. Other people need to get permission from mods to get access.. I know a couple of guys who would like to post but don't put in there nicknames because of IRS reasons in Europe etc. So it's a shame to miss out on people who want to share...

So every1 w/o top 300 or a $1M badge, don't panic if this would happend. Just prove yourself now and keep the quality of this forum solid and be active.

This forum can become so interesting and yes, it will make people understand my game and thought process more, but it's also part of the fun and it will help improve my game and adjust my thought process as well. So it's a give and take situation.

You as a player will also become better by simply being active discussing and talking a ton about HHs instead of only reading about them. This will help your growth and success at the tables as well, so I dont really think its a bad thing to educate your fellow P5ers, because it also helps you get better at the same time.

And so posting in this forum should be his motivation for moving up 50 spots when its the most arbitrary thing in the world.
So you could potentially just play shit loads more volume then the next guy and considered to have a better input on the game?
Look at 2+2, are they limiting who can post what where based on rankings and or cashes? No, cause they don't have the ranking system which promotes the stupid elitism going on in these types of threads.
Make a MSMTT and SSMTT thread also and you wont have tons of alleged donkeys feeling excluded, or tons of these awesome 1 mill badge wielding top 200 ranked internet superstars feel alienated by those who are beneath them.

    actually 2p2 does

    this
  12. Current Total: 1,659

    With 1M+ or Rank > 500: 797

How many of those are active? Hard to say.
  13. yeah it could probably be more exclusive, but not sure it's really a big deal unless people who wouldn't qualify under stricter rules start making shitty threads or something. I don't even play high stakes though, so it won't be me.

btw, they already have this same discussion going on in PC.
  14. agree with Milli badge or top 500...

  16. I think it's fine as it is. Even if for some reason you don't think someone ranked 900th with 200 K in cashes is credible, then the badges next to their name will give you an idea. I think almost everyone eligible for this forum will at least have an idea what they are talking about. A lot of old PD threads had $1 ABI players responding to a 100R hand.
  17. Another possibility could be to look at the tournaments people are playing. As they have the data it would be possible to calculate ABI or set some sort of other tournament played requirement. That way you would include high stakes players that play low volumes and exclude lower stakes players that play insane volumes and thus have 500k+ badges. I suspect they only have data of the tournaments you cash in so people who play higher stakes tourneys and never cash in any will be excluded but...

    yik

The whole idea was to stop people having to wade thru 13 threads titled "how do you play 89s" or "can if fold KK to this 13bb shove" etc etc. Even someone ranked 990 with 200k in cashes wont be posting that shit.

Reason: wait whuttt, ranking update, id now be good enough to post according to P5s! Def improved heaps since yesterday
  19. I SEE HOW IT IS

  20. If it gets too cluttered, we can always scale it down (make the requirements tougher, etc.). If there aren't enough posts, the forum will probably just go away. The idea was to make it exclusive enough to keep out beginners and most of the riff raff to start and limit things to people who are serious about the game. If it catches on it will be tweaked for sure over time

  21. i dont think you need to limit it any further, id be surprised if there werent already a decent amount of ppl eligible to post who wont bc they are worried about being 'wrong' or not part of the 'in' crowd or something stupid

  22. i dont agree at all, why limit it any further. Its a HSMTT forum where people who regulary play these can post hands and discuss. 500k badge seems like a good limitation not being unfair and excluding people who have experience in these withou having that silly 1M BADGE. Would rather create profit badges then exclude people based on cashes...
    and also what pghfan said...
  23. Why would u want to limit it further. how many guys have 1 mill badges? Not speaking from a personal sense but there are a good number of guys with 500k badges that are a year in and are great winning players but havent put in the volume as 1 mill badges. Besides, not all guys who have a 1mill badge are winning players.

  24. Am I greedy/selfish for thinking there should be requirements for viewing the forum, even if requirements get bumped up and I can't view it? The whole thing seems counterproductive to me and can do more harm than good.
  25. I think I like things as they are right now and just hope we keep putting up alot of good content. Not sure why we would limit it anymore. If someone posts alot of unhelpful stuff, we'll just ban them.

    seems simple enough

  27. this seems fine as is. 1 mill badge or top 500? come on

  28. seems dumb to limit people posting, I mean if someone who has neither the badge or the ranking wants to try and give hand advice let them.... doesn't mean you have to take it
