Sorry to start a new thread but since I can't change the title on the other one, I decided to make an important update.

From 6PM to 9PM, every cash game table was invaded by french players sitting out. After a few minutes, all the remaining players stopped playing. We are striking to protest vs the 7.5% rake that pokerstars.fr puts on the players. Also, the rake is taken even if there is no action preflop.
As you can see from this sample picture, every french player sat out and this from 1c/2c up to €5/€10:

Thanks to this movement, clubpoker, the french poker forum who organised this boycott has already got in touch with the pokerstars french boss. SO THEY CAN LOWER THEIR RAKE and Put pressure on the french body ARJEL to review the preflop rake rule as well.
Anyway, I'm just pleased to see that french players won't let this go without a fight. the 4th of july might become a big day for the french poker community. -
pretty cool. any movement to get back playing with the rest of the world?
-
That is so awesome to see, what a sick way to protest. Defiantly makes a statement
-
didn't the other thread say that it was the French government that made this rule?
-
yes it's the ARJEL body who made that rule. BUT out of all the major sites, pokerstars is the one with the worst rake. bwin and winamax are, for exemple at 5% rake while PS decided to stay at 7.5%. This is unacceptable. PS has lowered the rake already on the sngs and MTTs, they have to lower the rake for CG, and as the number one in the world, it's important to put pressure on them.

kind of surprised that pokerstars would charge a higher rake
they more than anybody seemed concerned with market share
gl french players! -
IDK ... jamming up their games and freezing their rake is pretty epic IMO. Imagine how much $ they lost in 3 hours

wp French peoples -
awesome, hope it gets the point across!
-
Well done; now we hope you can rejoin us!

according to club poker, there were the stats at 7PM:
the numbers indicate the limit, the number of players at this limit, and the number of tables without any action

Ce qui nous fait un total de :
2600 places prises, bloquant 375 tables
--->2600 seats taken, 375 tables were without any action
Not bad for a first time. 375 tables generating no rake during 3 hours, that must hurt :) -
Wow - well done France!!
-
What??!!?? the french can actually protest or fight about something?? I figured they would wave the white flag
-
Good job Frenchies! I have gained much respect for you all.
-
lol the french are the best in the world at this kind of thing
-
I bet pokerstars would get hit harder in their pockets if all the French players just withdrew from PS and played on FTP instead.
-
about time they fought for something
-
I like this
-
guess they do as their soccer team does.
