  1. Never thought it could happen to me, but it goes to show how easy it is for someone to get information on someone online nowadays. I'm posting this for players who keep above average amounts of money online who may have had success in poker and sports betting or have easily accessible information on the internet. It also goes to show the ignorance of some of these customer service reps that take our calls and handle our accounts.........

The story is on there under, <TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD><SPAN class=bold-gray>Online Poker Complaint</SPAN></TD></TR><TR><TD><SPAN class=rating_link>Impersonator Empties Account at WSEX Poker</SPAN> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

  9. Sorry to hear that.
I play on WPEX often and have only had great customer service from them.

I was not aware you could withdraw via a phone call.

Its an unfortunate incident but I still hope this has no huge affect on worldpx
because the traffic is already minimal.

    GL2U sir.

  10. Here is the story:

<SPAN class=articles_content>According to Bluff Magazine, ranked poker player Mike Postle is one of the most popular players in the online community. So popular, in fact, that people not only want to be like him, someone actually wanted to be him. An unknown individual impersonating Postle made 3 withdrawals from WSEX Poker over the telephone, and finally succeeded in emptying his account. This strange tale begins with the imposter telephoning WSEX and making a $3300 withdrawal. Postle caught this and complained to WSEX, who then investigated and refunded the money to his account. Shocked that this transfer could occur so easily, Postle requested WSEX be more careful screening anyone making any future withdrawals. Approximately a week and a half ago, Postle tried to log into his account, and was denied. Contacting support, he learned the imposter had changed the password, and was attempting to make another withdrawal in the amount of $2800. WSEX canceled the transfer, and Postle closed that account and reopened another. He was furious at this point that someone could accomplish all of this over the telephone. Last weekend, Postle again logged in and discovered his account was empty. Calling the account manager, he was told all funds in the account had been transferred the day before, and was then reprimanded for trying to impersonate Mike Postle. Shocked, he explained that he was indeed himself, but the account manager didn’t believe him, even though he was able to provide details only he would know. Now his account was empty and WSEX had accused him of impersonating himself. He contacted support four more times, each time having to tell the same story over and over, and was promised a supervisor would contact him. Thus far, this has not been done. PokerRoomReview is assisting him in trying to correct this bizarre and unfortunate situation.</SPAN>
  11. Why hasn't the FBI been contacted?
  12. i guess if they cant resolve this and his money is gone, then yes the FBI should be contacted, this is a very scary scenario. ill say again, this is very scary!! i would like to see how this is being handled....nothing like this has ever happened to me but i have called into 2 accounts years ago without my password and got it from the CS reps by giving them some personal info. kind of makes you wonder
  13. woo goo WSEX they are the best!

  14. huh?
  15. Ive been saying for a while WSEX was a piece of shit site, only to be flamed and called wrong, and now it's been proven

  16. That sucks..

Would the FBI even help? Is this a case in which you dont call the police because your MJ plants were stolen...Or should you call because this is Blatant Fraud. I doubt WSEX would release records to the FBI to begin with...
  17. gotcha.....and yeh i have to agree with you
  18. they would help catch the theif but i DONT think they would even TRY and help the victim recover his funds......this did occur while playing online poker with an offshore company......just my 2 cents
  19. did something happen while you were there or did you just not like the room in general?
  20. can we get an update on this story? would be nice to see you get back your funds, but it would be nice to hear the details of this story....... please drop an update on whats happening with your case.

    best of luck

  26. course im serious....do I know you 247boss???
  27. no, but i think thats pretty wild and very cool, small world.

would be really funny if you can help mike nail the buddy who did this to him, it has to be someone he knows well or at least knows him pretty well.

probably someone closer to him than he thinks or he is willing to except.

    good luck in helping him.
  28. As of now, it has not been resolved still even after I have faxed my drivers license, copy of my neteller card, 2 utility bills, and a copy of a check I received from another poker site. I was told on the phone that I would get phone records, a voice recording of the imposter, and anything else to help with finding who did this. Supposedly my funds are being "held" but my last 3 emails and 3 phone calls havent been returned. I've gotten the hint it may be an inside job involving someone who works for wpex who has my info. But whatever it is, I'll keep everyone posted for curiosity sakes.
