  1. Do any of you guys have friends that don't understand when u explain that you play poker for your main income as a profession? They always lable you as "oh, you always gamble as a living, huh?" and almost just don't think that you are being legitimate? They always ask questions like how much you make and stuff even though that's a completely inappropriate question to ask a single person no matter what? IDK, I just wanna hear people's thoughts on this....plz have at it....

  2. i dont really mind when ppl dont understand, i wouldn't expect them to. It just annoys me when they say "you should quit while you're ahead".

  3. Say to them " You think im gambling?? You are the one whos whole life is controlled by a boss that one day may decide you are replaceable or not necessary. Now whos gambling?"
  4. just a hobby imo

  6. I just dont talk about it at all anymore. If people ask me I say I play poker and dont really get into detail or bring it up anymore its just not worth it. It gets annoying and when people ask questions like how much do you make like you said its none of their business and then when people make the off hand comments its just like uhhh I dont say anything about what you do let me live my life. best thing to do is just not say anything at all.
  7. Yeah this kind of thing is bound to happen. I'd be willing to discuss it with someone who is actually interested and capable of ignoring someone who after 5 seconds of conversation reveals they are opposed to what I'm doing by their not so subtle insinuations. Contrary to popular opinion you don't owe anyone an explanation. As long as you're making money and comfortable with your lifestyle most people should be able to pick up on that and be relatively supportive. If not who cares?
