I was recently down to the last 3 on stars 5k guaranteed - (about 7k in pot i think?) and suggested a deal which worked out at 1k each. All agreed. We then sat out - and as 2 of us were emailing support the other guy sat back in and stole about 4 blinds. As this was a turbo - blinds were huge and he went on to win.
I obv complained - stars said there was nothing they can do. I disagree - there is clearly a contract formed in the chat - they shoudl ammend the results and ban the cheat. They wouldnt do it.
I am now going for a legal recourse as I believe there was a binding contract between the parties (which to be fiar to Stars they are assisting me with Info).
What are peoples thoughts - and dont say dont make deals - it made sense with 3 people on simlar chips with silly antes and blinds.
Surely Stars should ban him - they accepted his actions were unethical?
Cheers

If it was documented in the chat window that all three players agreed to the chop, stars will likely go in and redistributed the funds according to the terms of the chop. I also hope they find a way to cut the thief's hands off.

Im no lawyer but i personally don't think its worth it, as most lawsuits arent. First who are you going to take legal action against...pokerstars or the player, if its pokerstars don't waste your time. There is no way you can compete with their lawyers.
If the lawsuit is against the player is he even from the same state as you? Is he even from the same country? Also if its against the player whos to say he would even pay you if you won the case. I dont know much about the law but i do know a lot of civil judgements never get resolved, look at OJ Simpson...he owes millions of dollars to the goldman family and he hasnt paid shit meanwhile he is out playing gold and living on the beach
There have been a couple times in my life where i've considered legal action for someone screwing me out of money and any time i seeked advice the conclusion was allways that typically it's not worth it. Especially in cases like this where even if you won there is no garuntee the player will ever give you the money you deserve and if your lawsuit is against pokerstars well then you can forget about it.
Hope this helps, I personally think its not worth it. I really stars needs to agree to what was said in the chat, im kinda suprised they didnt.
Do you have a log of the chat we can see ? -
assumming that he agreed for the split its kind of shitty. It wouldnt make much difference if his name posted on here or not because he can still play at stars whether his name is here or not.
Sue the sorry bastard...lol -
I'm pretty sure that support has to be present for a deal to be official. If not it's just angle shooting.
