ftp cashout tournament question

    How exactly do these work....do u get one cashout per tourney or can u cashout multiple times per tourney whenever you want??? TY

    i have those same ques as i just got involved in the $20 mtt..

    Also what happens if NO ONE CASHES out??

    Do they put that money back into the payouts? im a lil confused...

    cashout period ends when u reach the final table so any money left in the cashout pool is added to final table prizes.

    It's not exactly added to the final table prizes. Once the final table is reached, all players are given their effective cashout. For an easy example, say no one cashed out throughout the entire tournament. Once the final table is reached the cashout pool is paid out entirely before play continues. If the chip leader has 40% of the chips in play, he/she gets 40% of the cashout pool, without giving up any chips. It's all based on chips at that point. Once the cashout pool is divided, final table play continues.
    Since draining the cashout pool effectively ends the tournament, there had to be some type of stopgap measure put into place. It offers interesting strategy points during different stages of the tournament. I've played and railed a few of these so far. You can cashout multiple times, but if you plan on making the final table, it's best not to cashout at all. You get the same chip equity for cashing out early, than at the final table, when your chips aren't taken away.

    After asking around a few places (and getting pretty much nothing) here's what I've got

    Cashing out is pretty much a no-go unless you're super short stacked, in which case you should cash out as much as you can (to get the cashout) whilst leaving enough to play one more hand and take the next bust (if you've made the money) If you're not going to make the money (i.e crippled) then you may as well take as much as you can get. (this can work well when you have 4-8bb and the big blind is equal to the starting stack, as it will mean that you will get half a buy in for every bb you sacrifice, but its better than busting and getting nothing.

    As far as i can tell once you reach the final table, everyone get paid their % of the cashout and gets to keep the chips, but I'm not 100% on that bit

    I haven't ad a chance to play one yet, bu for someone like me with a 6 week old, they could be handy if i think i might get a chance to play a tourney, but then get interrupted mid game.

    edit: also your chips are only worth half, so if you start with 1500 chips and its a $20+2, then you only get $10 for every 1500 chips you cash out
