    Anyone wondered why you do differently (better/worse) on certain sites?Some people say that i do better on ftp because of the tournament sizes/structures since they are much smaller(which i like a lot better)but for there to be such a massive difference between sites on my OPR is really weird....I pretty much play all the bigger/solid tournaments on stars with pretty much all the same players as on ftp....there shouldnt be that big of a difference should there?I mean i realize that its just a fact that i have ran like death on stars for the past around 8-12 months and im not posting this to complain because thats just what poker is and im fairly happy with the way im playing and the way things are going.I was just wondering if my stats on stars are the worst out of ANY ranked/well known player and if yours is worse i would like you to post it and anyone with any big differences from stars and ftp to post, i would like to see them.Thanks guys.(i just came 12th in 100r and 15th in 200r and just pretty annoyed atm and looked at my stars OPR and almost puked heh.Here it is http://www.officialpokerrankings.com...FCA05.html?t=2

    Look at my stars compared to ftp. its a joke. some of that due to my inabaility to play even one tourny seriously in the past 6 months but its still staggering.

    ur 18... Ask every 18 year old you run into that doesnt play poker if hes got 56k (i kno u have made a ton on ftp but u get my point). And yeah i kno i get it u didnt make the post to complain u realize how fortunate u are etc etc so ill comment on that as well. Its all just variance like prob 90+% of it is straight variance. Some ppl do well on stars and shitty on ftp yet are unbeleivable players its just a sick game we play.

    I'm the opposite but I haven't played nearly as much volume at FTP as I have at stars. I think I've become used to the bigger fields at Stars, and the fact that the antes are bigger at FTP probably hurts me a little.

    Its the bigger field on stars leads to more variance. you will obv go on a sick run on stars soon enuff

    I did well on full tilt jan-may and ran like shit on stars at the same time. now i run like shit on tilt and am doing good on stars.

    ive never gone on a heater or good run on stars that lasted longer than 1 tourney. it just hasnt happened yet where I run good for a stretch of time. But on FTP, it seems like every 3 months I go on a heater and win a good deal of money, then almost immedately after that I go on some brutal downwswing where I cant even cash...ftp is just much more streaky for me

    Heh.....just funny example of how brutal stars can be, but to be honest, all it takes is one big tourney and thats all wiped out....(sounds a lot easier then it is) lol thanks for the imput guys hope to hear some more = )

    but I'd think in cash games...you seem to know what your longterm expectation is or close to it, While in these phucking mtts, you can get close to the big ones so often and never hit that big score that makes up for all the time spent grinding.

    cash games you know you're getting somewhere, tourneys only god knows.

    yeah, perfectly put, a few cards here and there would be a life changing difference for me.. so sick how tournys can be. that's what's funny bout everyone who licks the balls of the higher ranked guys, without realizing how much those guys have ran over their own expectation. and im not saying they are bad by any means

    stars (2008) - 854 games played, 87% ROI
    FTP (2008) - 354 games played, 16% ROI

    I either need to play more on FTP since variance will catch up, play less on Stars since variance will catch up.

    Im the same way as purple/neon..I had never won a tourney on stars until last night but have won several on ftp this year.. I was going to make a similar post asking why but i guess its just variance?

    FT: 330K winnings 1644 games 62.10% ROI

    Ever since I opened my FTP account(had a stars one for a lot longer), my ROI on stars has continued to slowly drop. I duno wtfffffff is up.
