Last night, with only two tables left in the Double Deuce, I was disconnected from FTP. I had no other internet issues, and was not the only one with this exact issue ( http://www.pocketfives.com/f7/ftp-connection-606034/ .) Sitting out, I ended up 12th for about $1400. An average stack with 18 left is worth about $6k. However, FTP refuses to compensate me for the loss. From their email:
"We understand situations like these are frustrating. However, we have determined our servers were fully operational at the time of your disconnection, and we cannot make adjustments because of Internet conditions beyond our control."
Whatever the issue was, it was clearly on their end, as everyone who experienced this problem had it only with FTP, and, as it happened to a number of people, it was not an isolated incident. IF YOU HAD ISSUES WITH FTP CONNECTION LAST NIGHT, PLEASE EMAIL THEM AND DEMAND THEY MAKE IT RIGHT. Even if you didn't please do so just so they don't establish this as a way of doing business. Personally, I think the site is not only making a foolish business decision, but a completely immoral one as well. Please help me make this right. -
Wow I have been having this problem with fulltilt every so often for the past couple weeks. Happened to me at the FT of the 25k turbo rebuy. They basically said I should fix my internet and then compensated me with my buy-in back of $150. I was chip leader with 7 left and I ended up getting 5th. During this time stars was working fine, along with surfing the web. Not sure why tilt doesn't recognize that it is their fault and not ours. Oh well just thought I would let you know your not alone in this happening to you and tilt did basically nothing for me either.

I got disconnected a few times on their end and rarely ever got compensated. They are greedy as fuuuuck. GL OP

I agree its sickening how they treat there players most of the time. I ended up switching primarily back to stars got sick of getting screwed so much and angle shot. -
ya full tilt is constantly freezing and disconnecting when pokerstars, aim internet is working fine. every response i get back from them tells me its somehow my fault...so gl getting compensated
-
Funnygut - I doubt you will get anything as they would rather lose a few customers than fix their routing problems.. This used to tilt me to no end when I used to live in London, be involved in a sng or cash hand and be disconnected for long periods while I had access to every other pokersite and website.. It didn't matter than many others were experiencing problems, they would just say their servers were operational.. Big deal that their servers were operational, if they can't get the routing to the servers right and every other site is working OK, I don't see how this is the customer's problem.. FTP though has never been big on customer support regardless of the issue, although lately I have had some luck on small issues with them.. I stopped playing there for awhile in London because of this, but eventually caved in because I enjoy their cash games.. Now that I live in Lithuania I haven't had 1 routing issue in over a year.. Good luck getting this resolved, but wouldn't hold your breath to get anything except maybe a buy-in back..
Congrats.. -
That's fucking brutal :( Jeez. But ffs FTP! Fix your servers. I feels like i get DCed every day from this site, but every other site is working just fine. FTP is full of lies in this case. Because obv there's a problem, but the wont admit it. Greedy csuckers.
I <3 U tho. -
well then we all should not play there 1 day lol see what they think about it ;)
having big overlay in every tourney they might get less greedy -
1) This is actually a really interesting idea. What if the entire P5s and 2+2 community did a 1 day(Sunday) boycott of Tilt. A few majors would be missed but you'd still have the majors on the other sites(I know...Tilt #2, others are awful, but stands have to be made). I wonder if they'd get the message then.

2) A network engineer needs to post some standard testing that can be done that can be used to prove to Tilt it is an issue with them and not with people's internet. For instance post instructions for running Pings and Traceroutes to various things and screenshotting to provide them evidence. I think everyone on here can benefit from it. -

yeah, until people see a tourney has overlay, and everyone jumps in at the last second...would never work

I agree if anyone actually had issues you should email but I dont think you should expect other players to lie just to look like more people disconnected for your own benefit. We expect sites to be honest/ play fair , should expect the same from the players. Maybe i read the OP request wrong and if so i apoligize.
Congrats on your 4th in warm up. -
cant u guys see its pokerstars paying hackers to launch denial of service attacks on full tilts servers to drive away their customers and effectively eliminate the competition...... duuuh lol
-
as if stars really needed to do that

Sick brag about FTP support responding to your emails in less than 24hrs. And yes, FTP disconnects all the time.

well to play devils advocate here, its hard for you to prove that it was a problem on their end and not yours - the major outages theyve had theyve reimbursed players with equity refunds so its not like they wont take responsibility for the big outtages...that does suck though if indeed it was their fault
-
FTP disco's wayyyyyyyy too much. Seems like once a week I have issues with their software while stars is running juuuuust fine.

Unfortunately I can't help with this situation as the only time it cost me a lot of equity (FT of 20r in second place with 5 left) They actually did reimburse me which shocked me. -
funnygut was talking to me on aim while he was 'disconnected' on ftp. the thread he posted in the OP shows that multiple other people were playing on stars, talking on aim, surfing the internet, all while technically being DC'd from tilt. its most definitely not on his side

they are refusing to compensate me aswell, saying that their servers were "fully operational"...also going as far as telling me that even though I lost connection for over and hour and a half and was able to comeback in for 30seconds before losing it again..that I "finished my tournaments" - When the lagout happened to me, I was unable to load the FTP website to even get the email info to message them...everything else worked for me... obviously there were numerous other cases, I dont see how they cant do some form of compensation
-
This has happened to me on several occasions, when I've actually been able to email those clowns and tell them "look, I'm emailing you now as I'm disconnected and blinding away, it's clearly not my internet," and I get nothing but bullshit responses... when you're 12-16 tabling $20-$50 superturbos, that's a lot of money that disappears in a ten minute disconnect."
This is why I spent this year moving my roll from like 90-10 FTP-Stars to the opposite, with the intent of leaving those rakeback-denying, non-auto-add-on, refusing to admit that their software is garbage scumbags completely. Then one morning I got the worst email ever from pokerstars, and now FTP has 100% of my business. Again. Sigh...
My condolences, but congrats on your deep runs yesterday... -
I have been having this problem a lot recently, playing sngs
ADVICE:
I emailed them the first time and got a refund for a few of the games i was in. They told me this is their 'one time good will gesture' , which seems fair to me actually for SNGs, obv isnt as useful when youre about to final table a big tourney.
They will ask for some info - time of disconnection, tourney ids, blind levels, tournament buy in $.
Ive emailed them since with exactly the same problem, and true to form they won't refund more than once.
They explained though that just because its not your connection problem, it sometimes isnt theirs, to connect to their servers you connect to between 5 and 30 3rd party servers (located worldwide) on the way. They won't account for problems with these servers as they don't own them. -
Yea, well this is a bunch of BS too because you connect to 5-30 to reach any of the other sites too, but guess what? Little to no disconnection problems. Either they need to relocate because where they are is often unreachable via the interweb, or they need to invest in some technology to assit with routing to their servers.

This exactly.. I currently do not have problems on any of the sites, but when I had problems on FTP where I lived previously, I could easily play on any other site regardless of how much volume they had without problems.. Not sure how FTP feels they can deflect the problem onto the customers instead of spending some money on fixing the problem or minimally compensating players for their frustrating blind-offs during sngs & mtts and loss of big cash hands..

[QUOTE=clueless5;5849395] he was asking people to email and tell fulltilt to act responsibly, he didn't ask anyone to lie about disconnecting...I blame it on the US public skhool system.
and some folks seem to be missing that all his other internet activities were working just fine, including other major poker sites, so how could it be any problem on his end? -
i get disconnected all the time, while everything else is working fine. Your equity in that field was prob way> than 6k too.

yeah that does make more sense actually, but the comment can still be easily interpreted the way i first read it. not sure its the US public school systems fault, especially as im Australian...
