thats not 7 weeks that is 31/2 -5 weeks, secondly i would think that there is an express option on shipment
-
You can get express shipping for 33.50- about 7 days total ( 5 business days and two for delivery)

Can anyone think of any good reason why FTP would not send checks via courier anymore if the players are willing to pay the extra $30 to get the check faster.
This is ridiculous.
I put money back on FTP last night because I heard that they had a new check processor, now I am tempted to take it right back off again with my $135 profit and call it quits with online poker.
These poker sites just don't seem to understand what a hassle this has become...and they never do anything to make it any easier...it only gets worse...a trend I expect to continue. -

BRAG POST? -
Haha.
Not a brag post at all...I just think at this point, I'd rather call it quits on a final positive note (no matter how meager) than let Full Tilt have more rake for a service that just doesn't meet my expectations anymore.
I'm just pretty much convinced that this hobby isn't worth the headache anymore. -
I can tell you from experience that they take the full time. I did this once last year and it took over a month. I also made a withdrawal at the beginning of the month that I don't have and don't expect for weeks. This is not a "may take 35 days but will really only take 10 days" thing. I suppose you can't be made because FTP is up front about it but sitting on your customers money for 6 weeks before you send it is pretty ridiculous IMO.

I understand your points and you are right. They are upfront about it.
The problem I have is that they've taken away the option to have your check expedited by paying the $33 fee to have your check sent via UPS. This is really bothersome to me, because with all of the deposit/withdrawal issues going on right now, it's just a horrible time to be further limiting peoples withdrawal options.
Basically at this point, your choice is to use epassporte and wait a month for your money to post to your bank account...or to have a check sent to you that takes 2 months to show up.
Plain and simply, it's just horrible customer service...and there is no other explanation for it. -
After thinking about it further, the only reason I can think of that FTP no longer allows players to pay the $33 fee to have their check sent via UPS is that their new check processor (they just switched to a new one this week) is to lazy to provide the service and their agreement with FTP did not include the option for expedited service. Notch another one up for stellar customer service.
I work at a company that produces 8000 checks a day and gets them all in the mail same day. It's hard for me to understand any legitimate reason for the long delays.
ftpdoug, if you could elaborate on this situation and confirm that the option of having your check sent via courier is no longer an option, it would be greatly appreciated. -
Takes forever to receive a check from them. I cashed out early november and didnt get my check until almost christmas, 33 dollars and UPS is the way to go.

A lot of these organizations will bulk up funds and earn interest on that bulk. If you can float the money for longer, the more juice you earn. I'm sure Neteller is doing the same thing.

Banks are not the only type of companies thats are effected by thes onling gaming laws. Do you really think UPS or any other shipping company wants to be involed at all in handling money coming from an onling gaming site. This is just the trickle down effect, and its only the beginning.
Can you imagine the interest FTP is generating from holding on to money an extra 7 weeks? wow! And especially with all this stuff going down FTP mine as well suck out all they can incase they have to go busto. of course its horrible to the customers thats not even an arguement! -
UPS has no idea what is being sent...that has nothing to do with it...it's just one of hundreds of thousands of overnight envelopes they deal with on a daily basis.
They don't pick up the envelopes from a big store with a big Full Tilt logo sign on the front. -
deerange,
Point taken. However, most companies will use either UPS, FedEx, etc. in their office and have that companies shipping software in the computer along with label makers, etc. THIS would def be the case for FTP, because Im sure they have the volume of packages to warrant this. So FTP not making this option is only two things, either, FTP is going to use another service or UPS does not want to deal with that company anymore fro obvious reason.

Have you ever gotten a check from FTP?
It's a nondescript check from some 3rd party check processor, the last one I got came from Canada.
The only people who definitively know the check is from internet poker are me, the check processor, and full tilt. Other than that, no one has any clue what the check is or is not for. -
who in the hell wants to pay for money that is theirs. i do not wanna pay shipping on my check. Its mine and I earned it.
