  1. Why dont they just cut the gimmicks and have a side branded Full Tilt Casino with table games and all kinds of gambling games?

This way they can be open and honest about trying to generate a lot more money for Full Tilt, then thinly vailing these new poker formats which are complete crap and at the core MAINLY benefit Full Tilt Poker...

Or am I wrong? Are these new poker games really in the good spirit of poker in the long run? I can't see how thats true....

  2. If they do this, they can most likely forget about re-entering the US Market if there is ever regulation..
  3. lets hope they dont do this, stupid ass thread guy, rush poker is straight as fuck, no clue what u are getting at.

    Reason: f u op
  4. The OP really doesn't want a casino, he want FT to leave poker the FK alone, no more new games and formats and such. I suppose we need to grow, but WTF sometimes.

  5. If you don't like playing a game, then don't play that game. Let the rest of us have the same choice. Thanks.

    pretty much this

no one is forcing anyone to play the new games. if they were only beneficial to FTP and bad for the players no one would play them. obviously some people like it and thats fine.

FTP is a business, theres nothing wrong with them putting things out there that will make them money if people are willing to pay for it.

gotcha...so as a BUSINESS, they have to stick to "poker" or else they jeopardize future markets, etc....

Doesn't it seem so obvious how they decided to push rake further and create a casino type atmosphere...these new formats are not poker, what would a legend like Doyle say about Rush Poker? or Multiple Entry Tournaments?...they are morphing "poker" into all these different formats just to attract new players and push rake...its a business decision plain and simple has nothing to do with growing poker or giving it a good name, etc....its about more rake, PERIOD.

  8. Agreed - it is a business and they will do what they can to maximize the potential.. Also some of the gimics attract the fish. For example, I love rush poker cash games. I am not sure the Multi-entry tournaments will be a success or not for them, hopefully if people do not like they don't give into temptation and play. The less people that play them, the less likely they are to offer them in substitute of tournaments you do like. It is a business and FTP's marketing people are amongst the best despite the initial unpopularity of the multi-entry tournaments. Rush was also unpopular to start, and many people including myself warmed up to it. Matrix sngs was not popular to start, and they don't push promos on it since they see its not so popular since few people register to play.

Regarding your comment about pushing promos to attract new players and rake, I would think we would want new players to be attracted to a site as it brings in fresh blood to win money off of. I do not see how multi-entry tournaments will bring in more new players, but just responding to that part of the comment. I do agree its done to generate more rake and try to bring in a market niche that isn't there on other sites.

  10. it's called getting in touch with the correct age, the mobile rush idea is pretty genius. Get with the times man, things change, roll with it or get left behind.

  11. Does Full Tilt poker have a moral obligation to uphold the integrity of the game?

  12. Most of these gimmicks appear to be training the casual player to become a multi tabling button pushing shove tard.
Matrix - this gimmick got the casual player 4 tabling overnight.
Rush - this gimmick trains the monkey to push the buttons faster
Rewards system redone... (after you train your monkeys to do more you can reward less)
Super Turbos - this gimmick rewards the button pushing monkey faster
    MEMTTs - this gimmick...?
    1. Patented games. Regulation, blackout etc. would be unaffected if they license games
    2. OBV HTTYM How to Train Your Monkey
    3. Player pool loss, multiplier games fill loss.
    4. Fish temporally believe again

They believe in a time based sense?
  14. I don't agree with the OP...
They have added Draw, Matrix, On Demand, etc...
Numerous changes all of the time to cater to the poker world.
You as the rest of us has the simple ability to chose what you wish to play!
  15. this is why I think stars will always be better they obv have real tourneys while fulltilt is turning all their tourneys into crapshoots and carnival rides

I think they should yes...dont forget they are founded by people who made the majority of their wealth from POKER so, yah, you would think this would be something they would be interested in....

I fully believe they would do this, but as Jaxon pointed out, this will drastically hurt their chances of re-entering the US Market when/if that happens...

Maybe I over-reacted on these changes but you have to admit, these changes are in stark contrast to the "Home Games" offering that Poker stars just came out with.

In my opinion, one site cares (at least partially) about the integrity of the game, etc. and the other site cares mostly about rake and getting players to push their comfort zone into more tables, faster, faster, faster....

I'll say it again too, I'd buy stock in Full Tilt if I could, but its about more than money, its about making poker seems gimmicky and casino game like to the casual player...when in fact its a pretty awesome game at its core with no gimmicks....
