  1. Any FTP regulars particpate in this program. Like most i play a little each day but i wonder if the realistic benefits are worth trying to get a session every day?
  2. Yes the freeroll are good+ you can get some decent stuff with the medals.
  3. If you play cash games it's easy to get the first level. Maybe play an hour of $50NL. Remember that the freeroll comes out of rb, and if you use the medals in the ironman store, out of rb too i believe.

The freerolls are fun because half of the qualifiers don't show up.
  4. you have to choose between medals and the freeroll correct?

  5. no you get medals either way and the bonus medals are a smaller medal bonus if you opt out of the freeroll. I think the bonus is the base amount so that if you're in month 1, the bonus would be the same as the award. Freeroll is well worth the upside if you can play on Sat afternoon.

  6. Yes. Make sure you don't forget about the freeroll. It's on a Sat. afternoon. You can even get blinded into the money sometimes so many people don't play.
  7. I picked the medals without really reading the info... for a SNG player what would be better value for me, Medals or the Freeroll?
  8. I remember I played the bronze and the silver before, and there were a lot of sitouts, but just FYI the "people don't show up" rationale doesn't apply in the actual Iron freeroll. Most of the people in it know they're in it and show up.

I just take the medals because I think I blow at tournaments, but there's definitely benefit to playing them. At the very least, it's very easy to cash, considering they pay about 30-33% of the field. Winning is obv very nice, as well.
  9. freeroll...only thing the bonus medals are good for is if you want to buy stuff from the FT store. get the extra medals and buy the 5k in points.

if you're gold or even better iron man, the freerolls are well worth it
  10. Oh and another good reason to actually play the freeroll if you're good at tournaments is because of the way the system is set up.

Most lower limit tournament players can't get enough points in a day to make ironman consistently, so you wind up playing against a bunch of cash game players in a tournament setting.
  11. Playing 25 days in a row is the antithesis of fun.
    2
  12. That's why you're not an iron man
  13. I think I'm on 37 and counting at least. Probably more.
  14. "Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind?
    Can he walk at all,
Or if he moves will he fall?
    Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?
    We'll just pass him there
    why should we even care?

    He was turned to steel
    in the great magnetic field
    Where he travelled time
    for the future of mankind

    Nobody wants him
He just stares at the world
    Planning his vengeance
    that he will soon unfold

    Now the time is here
for Iron Man to spread fear
    Vengeance from the grave
Kills the people he once saved

    Nobody wants him
    They just turn their heads
    Nobody helps him
    Now he has his revenge

    Heavy boots of lead
fills his victims full of dread
Running as fast as they can
    Iron Man lives again!"
  15. I! AM! IRONMAN!
  16. i think the iron man challenge is stupid. i can't play EVERYDAY. i do have a life, a girlfriend and friends. 5 out of 7 days a week should suffice.
