This is my first time posting on a forum about poker. I'm doing so to get some random advice about my game. Let me start by saying I never thought I would be asking anyone for help. I liked my game the way it was. Now I'm broke, what happened?

After my last cash I had 18K to my name and decided to try this for a living. I didn't attempt this because I just hit a tourney and thought hey I can do this now. I have over 100K in cashes and my ROI was 230 - 240. I had about 300+ tournys to go by with these figures. After looking up other successful online players profiles I would see they have say 500K in cashes but they played 5 times more than me. So thats why I decided that if things kept the way the figures showed I would be where they are.

So I cashed out 10K left 8K and started playing like a madman 4 -5 $100 tournies a night, plus the $50, and the $160- $100K gauranteed. Needless to say I drained my 8K in about a week. BUT I was still showing a good ROI with still over 50K in profit. So I wasn't done yet. After a few more bullets I was broke. Never lost it all but living expences and shit like that eventually dwindled me. After that last dry spell I still show nice figures I think. But I can't play anymore and won't be able to for quite a while until I have money.

I thought for sure I was on my way to success. What the hell happened? I don't know I'm starting to think that my game was OK but maybe not as good as I thought it was. Maybe I wasn't trying as hard as I should have been. Here is my game in a nut shell.

1. I don't use any poker tracker software. Is it that important to do so?

2. I am basically a card player more so than a move making poker player but I like calling bluffs, maybe more than I should.

3. All ins. This is really the meat of what I need some advice/input/whatever on. If I think I have the best hand I am calling and usually I am going nuts because of a bad beat afterwards. But maybe the joke is on me. Should I have been calling anyway even if I knew I was 60-40? I used to think if you was 60 - 40 favorite you should call no matter what. But now I am thinking I was wrong and this is why I am here. I used to freak out not understanding how I lose alot when I am 60 - 40. But the problem was I never put that 60 - 40 into perspective. 60 - 40 is the same as winning 6 hands out of 10. Thats it. My AK vs JT is only going to win 6 times out of 10. Only one more than coming out even. Now it's not like I was calling all in's ALL the time I used some common sense considering a raise and re-raise in front of me but if I THOUGHT I was ahead or hell lets just be honest if I had a pocket pair and I knew the guy had two overs I was calling and going nuts when I lost that as well even though it was a coin flip with me a slight favorite. Like a pocket pair vs AK is like 52% favorite I think. That means I will win 5 out of 10 times and only if we raced 25 straight times would my favoritism come in and edge out the AK 13 - 12. So I have been really examining these all ins lately and I'm thinking about dropping them all together unless I am VERY low or VERY high stacked. I would call an all in that I knew was a race with say 30% of my stack. Actually thats kind of what I want to know.

What % of your stack will you call an all in with your small pocket pair vs two overs?

What % of your stack will you call an all in with a 60 - 40 situation you are favorite in?

Sorry for the rambling. I could of got to that much quicker but when I started I didn't know where this post was going.
