1. I'm making my first casino poker run tomorrow in Tunica. If anyone plays there often or knows any information that could help me I'd love to hear it. I will be there from Friday-Sunday and I'd like to know some good games I should look for and where the best places to play are. I play cash games, SNGs and MTTs [$50-$200 buyin]. Also, if any fellow p5ers are gonna be down there holla at me. Thanks in advance.
2. Alright I'll run down what I remember from the two trips I've been at the casinos I were at:

Horseshoe: Seemingly the most action most of the time, they usually have

2/5 No Limit ($1000 max buy-in)
4/8 Fixed
10/20 Fixed
20/40 Fixed
2-10 or 2/5 Stud
4/8 Omaha HiLo with a half-kill (they had that running every time I was there for a week and a half)

They also have some really good tournaments, I think Fridays and Wednesdays or something like that? $65 buy-in with $40 rebuys. Very good structure, 800 startchips and I believe blinds start at 5/10 with 30 minute levels for 90 minutes, then end of rebuys and it goes to 20 minute levels.

Goldstrike:

1/2 No Limit
3/6 Fixed
4/8 Fixed
4/8 Omaha HiLo Fixed, times I've been there and played it, it has been with a full kill

I played their tournaments as well but I was not fond of them, few chips and fast blinds.

Grand Casino:
2/5 No Limit
4/8 Fixed
2-10 Stud

They also have really good tournaments, I played a few of theirs and they have a good blind structure, the ones I played were $125 freezeouts I think.
3. BY FAR the best game there (imo) is the 1-2 NL game at the Gold Strike. There's no max buy in, and there are a lot of "regulars" that are actually extremely easy to play against. Half of them play super tight and the other half are way too aggressive. On the weekends, there are also a number of "frat boy" types there that just give away money when they're drunk. All in all, that's the most profitable game I've found there.

From what I've seen, the tourneys at the shoe are pretty good, though I don't know much about what's offered these days there. There are no SNGs typically in Tunica, except during big events.

If you like limit hold em better than NL, the Grand usually has the most beatable games, although they're easy everywhere.

Have a great time!

4. The 100+30 buyin daily trny at the Grand is FASTTTTTT structure, but a little better on sunday. Registration starts at 12p, trny at 1p. when I played we had 50 and 40 people.

lots of dumb chits that love to see the flop. Tight aggressive (i mean over aggressive if you have too) will get you there. The idiots will knock each other out.

Side note-These little live trnys are full of people that dont count the size of the pot/chip stacks. If they are taking up antes, the pots are decent size and most people there dont do the math.

for what it's worth,
beauright
5. I like the $1/$2 NL game at the Goldstrike the best. Make sure you make a run up to Memphis and eat at the Rendevouz if you have never been. It's worth the time. If I recall correctly, the GS has a $30 buy in MTT on Sat and SUn morning.
6. Renzdevous owns......there's a Texas de Brazil right beside it if you want a good meal on your way back through.

7. thanks guys for giving such helpful info...thanks for taking time for detail, Gowon. I'm staying at the Goldstrike so I'll probably hang around the $1/$2 NL table there unless there is a good MTT in the area

8. The Shoe's right next door...make sure you try out their buffet (all buffets are free at Strike or Shoe if you just play a little and ask for a comp...)

9. Thanks, Adam. Is anyone gonna be down there by any chance? It'd be nice to meet another p5er in person. Anyway, GL me...you'll hear from me Sunday; hopefully it isn't me whining about how my KK got busted by Q7 s00ted but rather how fat my bankroll is.

10. The Shoe and Goldstrike are as Adam said literally next door. They are my two favorite locations to play at, as Adam said I completely agree with that the 1/2 NL can be very profitable. Depending on who is playing, so can the 2/5 NL as well, though. I think that the Shoe hosts a 10/20 NL occasionally and many of the good players from there can be in the 2/5 NL at times, which makes that game tough.

The buffet at the Shoe is great, and same with the Grand. Just ask for comps, as Adam mentioned, they are usually giving them out if you spend time in the poker room or playing any table game. I don't know about slots, since I don't play them.

I won't be down there, spent 11 days there not too long ago so still resting up from that, but have fun and good luck :)
