1. after gettin fkkd by us gov't...netteller ....and now possibly the sites themselves
it's obvious we need to stand together to force the poker sites to listen to us.
are we getting cheated by both other players and the sites too??..
if its true that AP employees/owner blantantly cheated us then why isn't it
LIKELY its happenned before and may again...we need to group together
and force the sites to listen and take action....or we will NOT play the site..
how can we trust them when they're NOT regulated but only regulate
themselves when its obv so ez to STEAL our money...

how can we do this??...we need INDEPENDENT UNPAID above spokesman
to speak for us...who??...i can think of a few ....if we are serious it CAN WORK..

as you know i worked for / with ub recently to try making it a better place for us all..
i always believed they cared and the previous owners really were making a lil
progress b4 AP took over.....then all changed and i saw nothing to make me
believe AP was doing anything to fix/ improve ub's issues so sayonara leggggggggy.

as far as ganks post i can say this....just about everything i know he said is true...
software definitely not working right with hugh unrepairable glitches ...
customer service never improved and to get anything fixed its who do u know
to help...the cash games shdn't be played....i reported 100's of cheats and
even as AMBASSADOR i got 0 feedback as to either their findings or them
fixing the problems.....

yess u can have many names on ub and yes u can sit at same table...
i've been tellin u all this with the hopes UB would see the need to
put in firewalls to prevent multi- acct'ers from cheatin me-u- but
i guess it doesnt matter cause i told them / showed them 2 yrs ago...

then theres the DP cheats who have therir own way of acceptable cheating
and again UB been FIXING for years.....

as far as super-user accounts in all my years playing and hearing complaints
i NEVER saw or heard it ever come up.....but now that AP OWNS UB..
and IF ap mgmt is capable of cheating us then its obviously possible...

not to single out UB why cant it happen on any other site as well??
we must stand together and watchdog these sites to protect our selves..

i do know also team UB is still doing what they can for us....and hopefully
willalways will be there..ho/debo /shawn 3 most honest caring guys u ever would meet..

but how can we openly trust a site once we KNOW they are cheating us..
how can we tell they are looking out for us??

only 1 way.....by the action they take when theres a problem...

wake up sites....its time us players who let them make ka-zillions a year
from us DEMAND action...

i just wanna play poker and lose after the hands over not b4 it !!

2. i agree 100%

* pol stands in line

3. Ok,
Who hacked Legggys P5 account? That was not written by him.
4. Well you know it wasn't King_Rube who hacked him.
5. preach on man

what has to happen for the sake of online poker's future is for the community to get as organized and the gaming commission. If you cheat in vegas, get caught, it's prison. This doesn't stop cheating but it sure does temper it.

over the short period online poker has been available it's been treated like a video game. If you can find an edge to help you win then you take it. For a long time there were many many players who thought with a nascar mentallity (if you aint cheatin, you aint tryin'). What people need to realize is this is not a video game, it's real money and cheating for the amount of money on the line is (or should be) a felony.

I haven't seen this stance taken before, i've heard some of the people scream take their money, that'll show em. I say lock em up, that's what we do to other thieves. Unfortunately, the responsibilty of fixing or atleast regulating online poker falls on the players themselves but with people like Gank and Leggggy out there, there is hope.

PPA? it's a start
6. the more reason the USA needs to get off their ass and regulate it and make some of these companies starve for business
7. "i just wanna play poker and lose after the hands over not b4 it !!"

LOOOOOOOOOOL and agree 100%
8. I would like to think the PPA is a start but I think they are more concerned with getting online poker completely legalized. If they could do independent audits of any site then now we are talking.
9. good post but why sound like a rastafarian all the sudden?
10. well said, Legggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg gggggggg gggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg ggggggg ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggy.

Most people probably have some understanding from playing in brick and mortor casinos as to what the functions of a gaming commission and gamingcontrol board are, essentially they are responsible for licensing, investigations, technology, audits, tax matters and enforcement of laws and regulations.

The bottomline is that, they ensure that the public has confidence that the gaming industry is operated fairly and competitively.

But what about in the online world? There are clearly gaming commissions. Kahnawake and Alderney, for example.

In the world of online poker, the leading sites appear to be licensed by either the Kahnawake Gaming Commission or the Alderney Gaming Commission. Bodog seems to have its own licensing body, the Morris Mohawk Gaming Commission and I cannot see from its website where Players Only is licensed, or if they are.

I am not aware that an egaming company is even required to be licensed by anyone.

What is the purpose of an egaming commission?

It could be the same as for the brick and mortor gaming industry, to ensure public confidence that the licensees are operating fairly .

Or, it could be that they exist simply to provide a physical location for servers with the added marketing benefit of the existence a perceived gaming authority complete with regulations and enforcement mechanisms.

The Absolute Poker fiasco has brought some light to the relationships of the Kahnawake Gaming Commission with its licensees and it willingness, or lack thereof, to take action with respect to its licensees. As I understand the KGC regulations, the KGC has the power to suspend or revoke the license of Absolute Poker pending a full hearing and investigation. Why has it not taken this action? Why has it failed to offer any statement on this matter?

An online poker player could reasonably conclude that the KGC is merely a sham organization formed as a marketing ploy to make it appear tha egaming sites are licensed and regulated. Certainly regulations exist. But what good are those regulations if they are not used when it is appropriate? I can not imagine a situation that would call for action on the part of a regulating body more than this Absolute Poker matter.

Thus, no matter what happens with respect to a resolution of the Absolute Poker mess, it is clear that there is not adequate regulation of egaming companies. Furthermore, while a resolution may indeed be reached in this case, it will only result because of the vigilance of a few astute players and the extremely fortunate occurance of one player being handed a smoking gun by an AP insider. Somehow this doesn't make me feel too much better about what has happened.

Aggrieved players must have some place to go if their grievances are not resolved by the company.

My next concern is with those egaming companies who continue to operate under a licensed issued by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. Why would Poker stars and Full Tilt and others licensed by the KGC want to continue their association with this entity after what has happened with Absolute Poker. The only reason I can think of are that they, like Absolute Poker, do not want to be regulated, but want to enjoy the benefits of being able to claim that they are licensed and regulated and they think that players will not care that there is no real regulation because they simply trust the site to treat them fairly.

My own personal experience is that Poker Stars has treated me fairly and I believe it to be run honestly and with integrity, but I am sure people felt the same way about Absolute Poker a month ago.

I realize that most people are focused on the fact that the cheated players in the AP situation may indeed be reimbursed for their losses, but the bigger issue is whether situations like this can be avoided in the future and if they do occur will the players have to rely on their fellow players to investigate and discover that internal security breaches have occurred or should the companies be licensed and regulated by a real gaming commission that is willing and able to investigate and resolve player complaints?

This is the bigger issue because we are in the midst of making progress in obtaining legislation that will make it easier for US citizens to play online. When our congressman see what has occurred with Absolute Poker it will be easy for them to be convinced that their worst fears about online poker are in fact real, and that it should not be allowed in the US.

One of the primary concerns about online gaming is that it operates in an uncontrolled environment that will allow and encourage such things as money laundering and participation by under aged individuals. If egaming companies cannot even run their own games fairly, how can they be expected to prevent these other anticipated evils?

The moral of all of this is that egaming companies, especially the good, honest and competent ones, had better get their plan together to combat the damage done to the entire industry by the Absolute Poker fiasco, if they want to keep and expand their American player base.

14. It's all lies. Legggggy and gank don't know shit. Keep playing on UB, it's a great website. They will give you 600 BONUS DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111shiftone!!!!!!!!!!! !!

15. Problem is so many people that play poker value money over integrity...

They go where the 'value' is...

They look out for themselves and not the industry...

What i want to see is some players that regulary play on UB/AP now come out and join our party...they/we all know who they are...

Hey, how many of you are playing in the UB 200k today.....yup....thats what i thought..its good value and pos EV...
16. I posted this in a previous post, but I think this is still valid....

And do you know why? Because they do not believe it has a noticeable impact on their bottom line. This is because most of us players will play no matter what. UB believes that as long as they build it, the players will come. And this is probably true. Look at Absolute, where the top executives were caught robbing their customers and the players continue to play there. Someone once said because its the only game in town in answer to the question of why he would still choose to play at a known crooked game.

The fact of the matter is, most of us are action junkies. We need to gamble, to take a chance, to get our game on; we need the juice no matter what. We have gotten hooked on this game poker and the guys on top of UB know it. You can send emails on obvious cheats, bots, and even make helpful suggestions on how they can improve their software. UBs response to these legitimate issues (or lack thereof), speaks volumes about their only concern the bottom line. There is either some very bad incompetence going on, or some strong indifference, or some combination of both. Either way, it is bad for the industry as a whole. However, UB does not believe that customer service has a significant impact on their bottom line. And you know what? They are probably right to some degree; at lease for right now.

The facts are that this industry is unregulated. There is no real regulation of online poker. In practice, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission does not have any significant impact on the way the individual online sites conducts its business. If you look at the Commissions history, its pretty obvious that they are not really regulating the online sites, at least not the way we would understand what regulation means here in the United States.

UB does not realize that every email that they brush under the rug, every known collusion that is brought to their attention and is ignored, every instance that bots are brought to their attention and is summarily dismissed, paints a black eye not only on them, but the entire online poker community as a whole. In light of what has recently occurred at AP, they really should actually need to improve and strive to be a better site not just for their customer base, but for the entire world, and in particular the Congressmen who are capable of making this game that we love to play, a legitimately legal activity here in the United States. And that should make financial sense even to UB. It is incredibly short-sighted to do otherwise.

Until the United States reverses its laws and makes an exception to online poker (like they do for horse racing and lotteries), this is a painfully slow process that will take time to improve. Although it may seem like its been around for years, the online poker industry is still relatively new. I believe we are doing the right thing by bringing to light the inconsistencies and bad practices by the various online sites; as well as the good things. Sites like 2+2 and pocketfives, among others help give a voice to the players, and allow more informed choices to be made.

I strongly believe that one day online poker will be legal, taxed, and regulated in the US. With a couple of hiccups, Europe has already led the way, not to mention the really embarrassing lawsuits from other nations against the US for disrupting the online commerce that poker brings. If UB does not adequately prepare for this transition, it will find itself falling short, behind other sites, attempting to follow the gravy train. I have no doubt that UB will continue to make money for years to come. The only question is, how successful will they be and how much money will they make?

17. His writing is pretty unmistakable. This is him.
18. agreed. im going live till i think things are straight its tough to let online go the reason i play is because its so " convenient" having a casino in my living room. has to stop though foxwoods is my new home yeee. i will keep reading pocketfivies though gl to everyone still.

20. Great post Legggggggggy!

Thank you for speaking up.

We really do need to create an online poker union. We, as a group are by far the players who produce sites the most rake, and therefore they would be forced to hear our voice. However, getting something like this off the ground is a daunting task in itself.

Regardless, these threads are one of the only ways we have to be heard. Whether companies listen to us is their choice, but we do not have to be quiet about wrong doings of these 'super companies'.

pokerstars uses our threads in the most constructive way possible, but not all the sites do.

Pokerstars cares about what is in the best interests of their customers, but not all sites do.

If you think that UB has been on the straight and narrow for the past 6-12 months, after seeing what the same guys who own it did to AP, then your probably not comprehending the whole scope of the situation.

21. sign me up for the union. I believe it'll be the voice of the majority of us that will make a difference (cash, big buyin, low limit)...ALL. I hope someone can step up and maybe initiate this and someone that has the respect of the community.

22. I'm fairly certain Rockyboy types while Legggy dictates. Or is it the other way around?

25. The only way we can do ANYTHING is to get people to stop playing on these sites that are cheating us. Unfortunately that will NEVER happen. Hell, I was one of the biggest UB supporters out there...for them to have lost me...a die hard UB player, says a lot about the site.

UBTommy leaving was the last straw for me.

Anyway, the point is, there are too many players that are too stupid to stop playing. So what, we get a few hundred people to stop? Not going to matter to them, it will change nothing. I dont mean to be pessimistic, but you have to be realistic as well.

26. Does anyone find it ironic that for the last 2 years there has been nonstop "rigged" posts on this site and many players defended all the sites so enthusiastically. The normal response was "its just variance, or you just suck at poker". It seems to me that there are just too many ways in which players money can be compromised in online poker with collusion, multiaccounts, superusers, inside players looking at whole cards, bots, etc. Don't all these things add up to online poker being less than fair and in a lot of situations downright crooked. I cant believe players are still playing with all the info that is posted day in and day out on pocketfives. I know this is many players livelihood and how they make their living, but give me a break the players edge has to be shrinking by the day with these new allegations on top of pokertracker, PAHUD, the training sites, etc. I love this game and it is amazing that we can do it in our homes, but i sometimes feel really stupid having lots of money online at these sites. This is a consumers world where the sites should compete for us but we still play after being told blatantly that some of these sites have stolen from us, and only because some very intelligent players figured it out. How many times do you actually think that huge tournies were compromised or high stakes cash games fleeced by an insider. Everything that has come out just adds up to online poker being less than fair and I have quit for many months now. Online poker is very addicting and I find it strange how people still play after being told that the games are being robbed in a sense. Does anyone else feel this way or is this game so addicting that many just have to play whether or not they feel it is legit most of the time or not. Shouldnt there just be a strike? It makes me sick to contribute rake to some of these shady sites and it seems like only PS and FT are the real deal, but who knows? I would like to hear some average players opinions, obviously the phenoms are gonna say, we still make tons of $. But what about the low and mid stakes guys? Why still play?
27. It wouldnt suprise me the least bit if all the sites were riged an scaming players but like u said as long as i keep making money im gonna play but dont get me wrong i play everyday and i feel like its riged i just find it funny that most of the tournys last the same amount of time (stgs) and u play LIVE stgs an some end in 10 min some 1.5 hr just my thought, not to metion FT Qs that pop off an finishs wit in minutes of the ME start time, think about it
28. Ever heard of this thing called a "paragraph"
29. Legggggggggggy,
Thanks for starting this. Hopefuly you and Gank can get this done. Alot of us just don't know anyone on the inside and emails don't seem to get anywhere like you explained. I have had the privilege of playing with you at a few tables in the past on UB but have recently deleted my account. You are a class act and I appreciate what you are doing. Even when you stopped me from winning a seat to the WSOP in a satellite one Christmas Eve, lol. I still have not forgot that.
