How deep do effective stacks have to be where folding to a 4bet after 3betting is not considered wrong?
-
30 BBs i think would be the min
ex at 500/1000, u have 30k. LP opens to 2.5k, u 3bet from blinds with air to 6.5k and r shoved on. u can fold. that said, u should be fairly sure u r getting a fold most times to 3bet with air, or with intention of folding to a 4bet with 30BBs. -
In general... 3-bet/folding hands that aren't air, when < 40bbs deep is bad imo.
AQ, for example, is constantly misplayed because people 3-bet/fold it all the time. By doing this you are effectively turning AQ into Ax and losing all value from the hand. Flatting with a hand like this infinitely better than 3-bet/folding.
Basically 3-bet/folding is a bad line to take. With value hands its especially stupid. Don't do it.
