    Have you played poker while drunk before, and what was your experience like? Did you find yourself to be playing a lot more gusty and daring than you would have been otherwise, or were you as reserved as usual? What about your level of focus, and did you find yourself not caring as much about a games outcome?

    I don't play drunk online but if I am drinking in Vegas I usually play tight and try to avoid difficult decisions. Then when I am wasted I stop playing poker and go to the craps table

    i did this last time i played at the casino. it made me play a lot better actually i think. i was not worried about the money but more about how the game should be played. i was not scared to bluff either.... i didnt realize til then that bluffing is very very profitable at some tables. im sure i was a little more annoying but i know i didnt do anything out of line

    For my first 4 figure cash I was hammered.

    My biggest losses have also happened after nights out too though.

    I will freely admit that I have played poker a few times while drunk, and it was pretty awful. Not only was I barely able to keep my eyes open, but I found myself making a lot of really bad decisions that I probably would've have even considered while sober. Playing drunk is a baaaaaaad idea from my experience, but don't just take my word for it! ;)

    I remember there was this one game that I was playing drunk, and I lost something like $500 dollars before I even realized what the hell I was doing. Also that was the last time that I played drunk I think, not that it should come as much of a surprise to anyone why :D

    Got on a pretty gross downswing....

    Went out to a karoake bar on thursday night, got hammered.

    Came home early and randomly entered the madness. My cuz tells me, "Bro take it down, your drunk, you'll fit right in."

    5 1/2 later came in second....and I never drink, maybe I should start?!!?

    I get drunk nearly every time I play Live. I love it. I play very well and am able to keep my focus well when drunk. I've done it so many times, I think I've trained myself to be good. Guarantee i am up way more $ live poker when by B.A.C. is over .14, which I consider drunk for me. I can't ever play live without drinking.
    I think Doyle had a quote once about a poker player he knew, I think it was in Super System... Something to the effect of "Billy is an above average poker player when sober, he may be the worst poker player in the world when he's drunk, and he is probably the best in the world when he is buzzed".
    I think we all can relate to this a little bit. Ever play darts? Same concept. You are okay sober, on fire after a couple beers, and then fall apart when drunk. I have played so much drunk, i have trained myself to be profitable. Live that is, online is a totally different story>>>>.

    I used to play $50-$100 HU games on bodog on paradise a few years back regularly with wild wild swings.........no more of that for me tho

    A couple years ago I loaded up something like 40 $20 and $30 dollar SNGs on tilt while absolutely annihilated. I tiled the tables to be in a Star of David formation and kept saying I was getting back in touch with my Jewish roots. I profited like 400 bucks and kept saying "Tequilaaaaaaaa" after every all-in I was in. It was actually this song... I kept asking what the rest of the words were to the song but apparently there aren't any...

    There were people with me that night on the board that can verify. I probably haven't been drunk since then.

    I've also played on hydrocodeine relatively recently and barely recall a hand played the entire day. I was really irritated the entire day and starting a fight with charder in the 50r for no reason because I thought he slowrolled me, even though I had the best hand and won. It wasn't a good day and I don't think I cashed in anything.

    my biggest win live at the 1/2 table came when i was absolutely smashed over 2k lol i would just bet 100-200 bucks everytime when the pot was gettin up to around that and everyone would insta fold.. ez money imo

    sadly my 2 biggest wins were luckboxed while completely hammered. 4th in a 215$ after going in to final with 2 to 1 chiplead over 2nd, lol won 9k

    also bought into a 50$ rebuy on UB with ultimate points, didnt rebuy or add on and got 3rd for like 5200$, also completely hammered by the end of tourney.

    Dont really remember much but I found that in early levels the calming effect of the first few beers helped keep me patient finding spots, and later on I got wilder and ran really good. I didnt have a clue what I was doing but I think it made me play a more correct tourney strategy, lol. But im a not a mean drunk, Im a happy drunk.

    I got drunk while watching NCAA Finals game and playing FT 1k Monday....ship that fucker

    One night after having a few too many at bowling alley, I come home shortstack 200/400....bye bye 8 G's

    I wouldn't play drunk all day long, smoking seems more plausible if you were to be under the influence while playing. But yes, to answer OP, and I did notice i was more ballsy in certain spots but overall not going crazy cus i was semi drunk.

    i played once where i was really drunk, and it was awful.

    when i play a 7h session i drink a beer here and there and smoke occassionally but when i have to much, i fell different, make different descions as i would if i were sober. and my focus level really goes down...

    so i guess a few bears are ok but if you cant focus on the game then its to much

    My fold button seems to shrink or completely disappear when I'm playing drunk online. Considering I'm pretty TAG sober, this makes for a lot different experience. I would call it LaggroTard. It works until the rest of the table figures out that you must be drunk.

    I have cut the drinking way back since starting to play online regularly. The two just don't seem to mix. Live is a different story (you have to do something to pass the time when you're only playing 25 hands an hour).

    Online all of my biggest losing sessions have come when drinking or drunk in cash games. I can play tournamenents drunbk online as long as I dont start to doze off which I likely willif I get deep enough.

    Live? I always drink when I play live. Just play super tight and people generally give you credit for being a maniac anyway as long as you are drinking and chattering away enough.

    i dont get wasted every time i play .....but a couple glasses of wine/a couple beers ocassionally when playing is no big deal ...

    but then again I grind SnG's, probly a bit different for cash ...

    This is actually a very good parallel.

    There's a point where I think my game gets better when I'm buzzed...it doesn't stay around for long, though.

    The only time that I ever play and drink anymore is when I am playing with just chips instead of real money. When you have nothing really to lose money-wise, you can go get majorly pissed and just have a freaking ball! Drunk plus real money is usually just a huge disaster waiting to happen though, but i'm sure a lot of people do it anyway.

    Yes, many times. If I sit down to play when I am already drunk then it is without fail a disaster. If I am sober when I start and get drunk whilst playing then this is OK. Have had some decent scores while drinking 2-3 bottles of red during a 6-7 hour session.

    Lolz i r get drunk while playing long sessions all the time, as long as i dont get too wasted i think it helps my game tremendously....both my making me play more aggro and creative...and by helping me to grind it out longer + have more fun! hiiiioooooooooooooo!
