Cook Can't Do What, Exactly?</H3>
A huge pot just went down on Blue #30. It was raised preflop from early position by Fernando Gordo to 56,000. Bertrand Grospellier, Scott Cook and Don Tran all called the raise, creating a 4-way pot with more than 225,000 chips in it before a single community card came down.
The flop was
. Gordo, the preflop raiser, had to act first. He bet 155,000 and got calls from Grospellier and Cook both. Only Tran folded.
The turn
paired the board. Gordo fired another 250,000 into the middle. Again Grospellier and Cook both called, creating a gigantic pot of almost 1.5 million chips heading into the river
.
Gordo, perhaps sensing something amiss, finally slowed down. He checked. Grospellier also checked, bringing the action to Cook.
"I can't do it," Cook said after a few moments. He also checked, taking us to showdown.
Gordo:
- two pair, aces and threes
Grospellier:
- two pair, aces and threes
Cook:
- a full house, fives ful of threes
Cook dragged the pot to increase his count to about 3 million -
Was just going to post this.

This is borderline punishable. I mean it's just so very unlikely that someone has KK, 33, or 88 in this spot, that checking 55 is pretty much like checking the nuts. This guy "couldn't do it" probably because he's a pussy .
-
I saw this earlier and sighed
-
holy fucking terrible, GOD
-
So how come he was not penalized for checking the NUTS?
That was an early thread where a lady was penalized for checking the nuts when last to act. -
I dont know maybe because it wasn't the nuts
-
elky scared him, poor guy
-
lol thats alotta value passed up on the river.
-
Obv because the backdoor flush got there.
wait someone might think i was serious, honestly first time i saw that update on cardplayer i didn't pay attention to the board and didn't see that it was paired but I still thought to myself "why did he check behind on river" when i relooked at board wondering what would scare him into being so passive with a set "el oh fucking el" when i saw he had a boat. I instantly said to myself "there is no way i can miss the WSOP another year". -
cause hes a scared fish

It's bad but it is tough to get judged by one hand. Scott is a great guy and i think he runs badbeatspoker.com. I've played with him quite a few times and he is a pretty good player. It wasnt played well but it is just one hand. GL w/ the rest of the way.
-
I would n't call him a donk ,but its 1 hand that he could got way more chips that 1.3 mil + he is from Ohio :)
-
quite a few people from ohio ITT.
-
He could have got a few more chips but I doubt very much more. The other pros wouldnt have thrown money into a pot where a flush existed. Scott is a very, very good player. A less than average player could not have survived the bubble with a short stack and turn it into a top 20 stack playing not to mention vs. a field of pros. TID Scott!!!

I owe alot to him when it comes to learning the game
Im sure he has already moved on from this mistake and learned the lesson...
jump on the bandwagon on chill on the trash talk... he would make a great champion -
Scott, aka Chipless Wonder (Full Tilt leaderboard player) and owner of 45-man SNGs is quite possibly the strongest non-professional player remaining in the largest tournament field of the year!!
He has incredible credentials and has a great chance of taking this thing down.
Make sure you know who you're talking about before you start all the bashing... he's the type of player you want to be rooting for!!
And if you're so good talking trash in this forum why aren't you dropping $10,000 to play in this event?
