So I just got a letter from my bank stating they will no longer be accepting my online gambling site checks as of December 1st. Everyone said nothing would change, any thoughts on whether there is any way to continue playing online in the US?
-
how is the bank gonna know exactly where the check comes from?
-
How do they know you are getting it from a poker site... poker site use 3rd party payment processors...

It was [bank name edited] and they implied that they knew I had both deposited and withdrawn from said sites.
-
Time for a new bank.
-
they send that shit out all the time...they don't know who its from anyway...even if they do imply they know something...they have nothing to go on unless you tell them...
fail thread -
People that say get a new bank are blind. Its clearly going to shit in the US. Whenever there is a thread on depositing checks people say atm ftw. If everything was peachy i dont think that would be the ideal way to deposit. Give it some time and all the banks will catch on and as u said, gg
-
Maybe they can stop making the checks out to Mrfreeze53 so it doesnt look so obvious.
-
FFS would you all just start using the wire transfer option.
-
thread title = epic fail
-
Cash a check at somewhere other than a bank and then put the cash in your account?
-
Minimum 1K for wires on stars

I got a similar notice in August. Not sure why people don't see this as a problem. Maybe someone who actually knows something can shed some light on this.
To just say, "Use wire transfer" is useless. A wire transfer is a deposit into my account is, according to my bank, unacceptable. If you have something to offer, explain it and provide a factual basis, not merely your baseless opinion. -
Oh and btw, I sure am glad we elected democrats to save the day for online gaming.
GOBAMA! f Bush! It was all those dirty republicans.
lol @ all you suckers who fell for that shit.
None of them give a damn about your personal liberty. Well, nearly none.
Ron Paul ftw -
Relax Willy, the PPA will save us by lobbying for us all to be taxed a bunch and to establish "regulated" online gambling so we no longer fall prey to Full Tilt and pokerstars--because obv they're taking advantage of us somehow.

It's really just a matter of how much money the govt feels they can take out of the online gaming business and whether they feel they can establish effective mechanisms to ensure that no one can circumvent the taxes. Govt is not getting their cut and they will sooner stamp out the entire industry than allow willing adults to voluntary wager their own money online. F the govt. -
HAHA. I would rather take my chances with a business that wants my business than our government, which wants as much as it can get.

The irony of this is that while the industry grew rapidly in the early years and there were relatively few problems depositing and cashing out, the trouble started once the feds decided for us, that online poker is bad. Now, since online poker is "bad", we can only play, if they get paid off. Standard pattern for government. Prohibit, regulate, take the money.
F the government.
