Goals

    I know most good poker players have set goals has to what percentage they should be in the money in multi's and how often the should be at the final table. I was wondering what those goals are for the better poker players.

    I'm starting to track myself and I've done fairly well the past two months but I'm not sure were to set the bar of acceptable performance.

    I currently have done something similar. My personal goals are at least 40% in SnG's. As far as MTT, really have to base that on the number of entries. 1000 and i crack the top hundred and know i played well, then whether or not i cash isnt as big a thing as the performance. Im a little more cashing oriented when it comes to MTT's but thats just me, and because of that, i cant place a percentage on it.

    I also track my performance as follows::::
    Session Start ( bankroll ) , Session End, Time played/Hand, Stakes, +/-. and Place ( if Sng/MTT )

    But even moreso ask yourself this, " What do i want to accomplish?" ( I.E. Winning more $$, honing play ( my reason ) etc.

    My goal is also to ITM 40% on SNG. I have placed my goal of being ITM of MTT's at 20% to 25%. A critical part of this is also how often you can get to final table and then final 6 since when money prize becomes much larger.

    I would love to hit final table at least every 10 MTT's that I am in-I am pretty close to that average. Probably at 1 in 12 or 1 in 15.

    I am not very experienced with MTTs, but from a few posts I've read on here and just from my general sense of things 20-25% ITM is probably a little high, especially if you're playing large fields. Anything over 500 players and I would be very happy with 10-15%. If you are playing smaller sites with <200 in average multi then your %25 is probably a good goal, and hopefully in these you're making some final tables and top 3s.
