I played in 68 mtt in the month of October and out of those I made 2 final tables, 7 final two tables, and 2 final three tables. This doesn't include other times where I made the money but are what I consider decent finishes.Three times where I finished at the final 2 tables i was in the top 3 in chips and lost huge hands where I got it in on flop and was way ahead. One was a backdoor flush and the other a 2 outer on the river. So instead of being the chipleader I am on the rail!!Two of these happened within hours of each other. It is very frustrating!! I have been so close to what to me would be a big win ($3 to $5k) but even though I play well it seems like I can't get my hands to hold up whem I'm way ahead at the end.I'm starting to think I just need to fold my way to a top 3 finish. While to me these stats appear to be good it makes me wonder why I can't seem to get that big finish or at least a top 3 in a decent payout tourney. I would be interested in any feed back.

Haha I remember when I was in your shoes. I had a run of 93 consecutive MTTs w/o a FT earlier this year. I was frustrated as hell. Then I broke out of it in May with a 2nd in the Iron Man freeroll. Here is what I think:
Your stats sound very solid. It is NOT unusual to go deep in many MTTs and NOT have a big score. It happens. The cards have a lot to do with it sometimes. I wish I could see the specifics of your situations where you were getting 2-outed and runner-runnered. Maybe you shouldnt even have been in some of those spots. I really have no idea though. Sometimes you DO want to go easy while at the final two tables and sometimes you wanna pound, it obv depends on how ppl are playing. I wouldnt worry though. If you are going that deep that often, eventually those late monster pots will go your way and you'll get your 3k to 5k score. Lol I seriously used to think EXACTLY like you are right now! GL

Thx for the reply Jimmy. I needed to hear something like that from someone who has been in my shoes. I kind of thought the same thing but again I want to have more top 3 finishes when I am in those situations. Thanks for the reply.

I think you are on a heater for ITM% if you have more cashes out of 68 than those 11 that you mentioned.
Any idea what your ROI is over these 68 games? Sounds like it should be pretty good even despite the fact that you haven't spiked a first yet.
Think about it, if the average size of the field is 500 people (should be much more than that even!) the average player will only win 1st once in 500 mtts...You've only played 68, so unless you are playing mtts with 68 runners then you shouldn't be too suprised that you haven't gotten a first place yet.
