  1. Believe me I know, why raise the river if you're gonna fold to a shove? His river bet screamed set and i planned on just calling and then at last minute decided to raise cuz I'm an idiot. Seriously though, I think not getting enough value from my hands in position is a bit of a weakness in my game. I prob check behind a lil more than I should. Anyway, FWIW, he insta-jammed over my raise and he plays low buyins but has a decent ROI. He also rarely busts in the early stages. That's all I had to go on, and the really short time bank sucks (Thanks Full Tilt). Dont think he was making a move and in that case I think i beat absolutely nothing here. anyone disagree here?

  2. your mistake was getting cute and not betting the turn. if you bet the turn and he calls, you can be sure he is not scared of the ace unless hes a fish chasing a draw. he can easily be checking a set here knowing that if he bets it looks real strong, and 2. it gives you an opp. to bluff.
  3. Would primetime just flat that flop with a set in a pot vs. two other players? I would expect most players to raise there. I think this is a call. He could easily have two pair or a busted club draw. Your hand is incredibly well hidden. Please bet the turn too.

And yeah I don't the reraise is good if you aren't calling the shove.

I wasn't getting cute on the turn, I usually play the turn like this so i don't get blown off my hand. I think betting this turn would be a mistake, not checking it.

this seems like pretty poor logic, you put yourself in a guessing game

Wow, like really? Would you rather be playing a guessing game on river for 800 chips or the turn when he check raises your stack and you can still make the nuts?

  9. I was just thinking that you may very well have the best hand on the turn and if the flush does hit, it's could very well kill your action on the river, that's why I recommended the bet on the turn.

  10. looks like A9 to me. I think I'd probably call... don't think he would smooth call the flop with the flush and straight draws out there if he has a set
  11. I thought A9 and Q9s were the only hands i could beat. But like i said, nothing about the limited info I had on player would make me think hed call an UTG raise with either of those hands though. I'm really confident he had a set, just wanted other opinions.
